Controls[edit]

  • Joystick: Use the 8-way joystick to make Tony Gibson (or Raymond Broady if player 2) walk left and right, crouch, and somersault into the enemies.
  • Firing Button: Use this button to make Gibson (or Broady if player 2) fire a shot from their current weapon at the enemies; if either player runs out of ammunition, pressing this button will make them punch out at the enemies instead until they manage to collect another weapon for more ammunition.
  • Jump Button: Use this button to make Gibson (or Broady if player 2) jump; pressing this button in conjunction with pushing the joystick up (or down) will make them jump up to the platform above them (or down to the one below them), just like it did for Albatross in Namco's Rolling Thunder (1986).
  • 1 or 2 Player Buttons: Push these buttons to start the game as player 1 (Broady) or player 2 (Gibson); a second player can join a game at any time.

Tony Gibson and Raymond Broady[edit]

These undercover police officers are the protagonists for this game; Player 1 controls Tony Gibson (who is shown in the image to the left), while Player 2 controls Raymond Broady (who is shown in the image to the right). Having driven their custom black Porsche to catch various criminals in 1988's Chase H.Q. (in that game Broady was also known as Mr. Driver), they must now fight against them on foot - and each of the game's six rounds focuses on a particular criminal activity. They start every round armed with a pistol, and can collect additional weapons as they progress through it; however, both the pistol and additional weapons have a limited amount of ammunition, and if either player ever runs out they shall only be able to punch, or somersault into, the enemies to kill them. They will also lose energy if they are attacked by the enemies, but it can be restored by collecting energy drinks - however, if they run out of energy, they will lose a life. The cops receive an extra life at 80000 points by default, but it can be modified to every 80000 points, 160000 points, or even disabled altogether.
