Cyber Cycles course selection screen.png

Once you have inserted a coin into the cabinet of Namco's 1995 racing arcade game, Cyber Cycles, the text "PRESS 'VIEW-CHANGE' TO START." will flash up on both its monitors; once you've done so the game will proceed to the course selection screen shown above where you'll have twelve seconds to choose either Green Hill (which is 2900m long and a 2- to 5-lap race, depending on how the cabinet is set), or Neo Yokohama (which is 7836m long and a 1- to 5-lap race, again depending on how the cabinet is set), by turning the handlebars left or right to select either course, then pressing that View Change Button to confirm it (but as in all other Namco multiplayer racing games with multiple tracks, the course that has the most votes will be chosen).

The game will then proceed to the bike selection screen shown above, but the colour of the bikes will be determined by your player number (1P: red, 2P: black, 3P: yellow, 4P: blue); you will have fifteen seconds to choose either the Anthias, NVR750R, or Wild Hog by turning the handlebars left or right to select a bike, and pressing the View Change Button to confirm it (you can also step on the gas pedal to select the background music before confirming):

Track number Green Hill track name Neo Yokohama track name
1 Rough Rider Tag and Rag
2 Mighty Sight Get a law
3 Bahama wind ride kids

However, to activate the NVR750RSP, you will have to select the Neo Yokohama course on the course selection screen, followed by the Wild Hog bike on the bike selection screen, and finish the race in first place without coursing out or crashing (and to activate Another Anthias, you'll have to, if you are 1P/3P, highlight the Wild Hog and step on the break pedal three times, then highlight the NVR750R and step on that break pedal a fourth time, highlight the Anthias and step on that break pedal thrice more, and highlight the NVR750R again and step on the break pedal an eighth time; if entered correctly, the Anthias will become the Back Anthias, and a fourth new background music track for your chosen course, known as New Music, shall get unlocked. But if you're 2P/4P, you will have to highlight the Wild Hog and step on the break pedal once, then highlight the NVR750R and step on that break pedal again, highlight the Anthias and step on the break pedal five more times, and highlight the NVR750R again and step on the break pedal an eighth time.

The initial amounts of time for both courses is also determined by how the arcade operator has set the "DIFFICULTY LEVEL" setting in its options menu:

Difficulty level Green Hill Neo Yokohama
A 50 56
B 44 46
C 38 36

Therefore, if you're using MAME to play the game, you may wish to set the "DIFFICULTY LEVEL" option to A in order to increase the chance of winning.
