Daikaiju no Gyakushu (大怪獣の逆襲) is an arcade game, that was released by Taito Corporation in 1986 only in Japan; it utilizes two Zilog Z80s (running at 6 and 3 MHz) with a General Instrument AY-3-8910 and a Yamaha YM-2203 (both also running at 3 MHz) for its sound. The player must utilize an 8-way joystick to take control of a Godzilla-like monster, with two buttons to make him breathe flames and jump up - and his fire meter is displayed at the bottom of the screen, along with his energy meter (which will decrease, if he is hit by bullets fired at him by the planes and tanks he is trying to destroy). There are a total of five unique stages in this game; as with Taito's own Riku Kai Kū Saizensen, once you have cleared all of them, the cycle will start over from the beginning, at a higher level of difficulty. The two screenshots on this page are also inaccurate - due to MAME's imperfect graphics emulation.
