I'm Usami...Magical Miracle Girl ★ Usami. I'm an itty bitty girl who's sweet like milk!

The title screen of Magical Girl Miracle Monomi.

Magical Miracle Girl Monomi is a bonus mini-game unlocked after completing Chapter 1 of the main game. The player character is Monomi, who fights waves of enemies by jumping on them or by creating a magic trail with her stick to trap enemies with magical attacks. However, there is a limit to these trails, as creating one that's too long will cause Monomi to tire out; in the time that she takes to recover, she's left vulnerable. Defeating enemies builds up Monomi's Hope Meter, which allows her to transform into Usami after it has filled completely. Usami is invincible to enemy attacks and has unlimited magic power, though this transformation is only temporary. The Usami transformation is especially helpful in boss battles, which conclude each stage as detailed below.

Items[edit]

Throughout battle, Monomi can pick up drops that range from recovery items to equipment. The items that can be picked up are as follows:

  • Milk: Recovers around 150 HP.
  • Cookie: Recovers around 350 HP.
  • Stopwatch: Increases the timer by 30 seconds.
  • Monomi Plushie: Increases the Usami meter by 10%.
  • Gold: Adds extra points to your score. Every 10 gold bars will grant you 1 Monocoin.
  • Presents: Gives a random equipment item.

Stages[edit]

Like the main game, Magical Girl Miracle Monomi consists of six stages. Each of the first five stages features a set number of waves of enemies to defeat followed by a boss fight against a Monobeast, to coincide with the defeat of the Monobeasts guarding the gates in the main game that subsequently allowed the students to explore more islands. The sixth stage is the "secret" stage, and therefore has a different format from the others. The secret stage is concluded by the final boss fight against the entity that antagonizes the students regularly, Monokuma. Defeat Monokuma to clear Magical Girl Miracle Monomi, though for completion purposes, there is a multitude of equipment to collect. Later stages and higher difficulties offer rarer drops, so keep that in mind when on the hunt for strong equipment.

Stage 1[edit]

DR2 screen Magical Girl Miracle Monomi stage 1.jpg

The enemies here mostly consist of the weakest type, cute yellow monsters that travel slowly. In early waves, they will sometimes be accompanied by their pink counterpart, which attacks by charging at Monomi. Draw magic circles around them and jump on the remainders to get rid of them. The fourth wave consists of the pink variant only, but they still shouldn't cause any trouble. In the fifth wave, they are joined by blue spiky monsters. Do not attack them by jumping, as this will only cause Monomi to take damage. After the seventh wave will be the final wave, which pits Monomi against the first boss: the Tiger Monobeast.

The Tiger Monobeast has three attacks that it can use against Monomi: charging at her, swinging its tail at her, and firing cannons at her. When it charges, use Monomi's trail to escape it, as she moves faster while creating a trail. Dodge its tail swipe by jumping, and take note that Monomi can jump onto the Tiger Monobeast to stun it between attacks. Use the Usami transformation when you feel you are in jeopardy for an invincibility window, and use her unlimited magic power to attack relentlessly.

Stage 2[edit]

The enemies in the early waves here should be familiar. In the fourth wave, a pink variant of the spiked enemy is introduced, firing projectiles like its blue counterpart and guarding against jumping attacks from Monomi using its spikes. The only difference here is that it is physically stronger, and thus takes longer for Monomi to kill. In the fifth wave, stationary rock-like enemies are introduced that also fire projectiles at Monomi. However, Monomi should be quick enough with her magic trail to avoid these projectiles easily. After the eighth wave will be the final wave against the Snake Monobeast.

The Snake Monobeast has four possible attacks: spitting acid at Monomi, biting Monomi, rolling up into a ball and bouncing around the map, and sweeping its body. Jump to dodge the sweeping attack, and jump onto it to stun it. As in the first boss fight, use the Usami transformation when in a pinch; the Snake doesn't move as quickly as the Tiger, so Monomi should be able to deal more damage in a shorter span of time.

Stage 3[edit]

The first few waves feature all variations of enemies from previous stages. In the fifth wave, a new enemy is introduced: a round pink enemy with round ears that drops bombs as it moves. These bombs have the potential to make the battlefield an even messier place, but the upside is that the bombs take a few seconds to detonate so Monomi has ample time to dodge. After the ninth wave will be the boss fight.

The Bird Monobeast is the boss of the third stage. It charges down at Monomi from the sky and breathes fire. This one is a bit more difficult to jump on than the other bosses, but it can be done between its attacks. However, the most efficient means of attack is to form a magic circle around it after dodging its attack, then transforming into Usami if Monomi gets caught in its charge.

Stage 4[edit]

DR2 screen Magical Girl Miracle Monomi stage 4.jpg

The sixth wave of this stage features a new enemy that is particularly tedious to take down due to its large set of armor. However, while it does take many hits, it doesn't act as much of a threat until its armor comes off, revealing a smaller yet quick enemy that can do serious damage to Monomi if left unchecked. The upside is that it is much quicker to defeat without any armor. After the tenth wave comes the boss fight.

The Horse Monobeast is quick on its offense and its defense. Offensively, it charges at Monomi with rapid dives and stomps on the ground after rearing its hooves to create a shockwave. Defensively, it will often jump back while Monomi attempts to trap it in a magic circle, escaping before she can execute her attack. The best remedy for this is jumping onto it between attacks to stun it, but otherwise the best opportunity to attack (aside from transforming into Usami) is when its rearing its hooves; create a magic circle around it, then jump to avoid the attack.

Stage 5[edit]

DR2 screen Magical Girl Miracle Monomi stage 5.jpg

The fifth stage has the same number of waves as the previous stage, and doesn't feature any enemies that haven't been seen before. Fight your way through every wave to come face to face with the Robot Monobeast, which attacks by slamming its fists into the ground, throwing boulders, and performing quick hurricane kicks that can cause devastating damage to Monomi if caught. The former two attacks are simple enough to dodge, but when it begins the latter, transform into Usami and attack away with magic circles; not only does this give you a valuable invincibility window, but its lack of movement also leaves it more vulnerable to attacks.

Secret Stage[edit]

DR2 screen Magical Girl Miracle Monomi stage 6.jpg

The sixth stage, referred to as the "secret" stage on the stage select menu, features waves of common enemies mixed in with the bosses previously fought by Monomi. It is vital that you have your best equipment on Monomi before going into this stage. After a whopping twelve waves of common enemies and bosses, Monomi finally gets a shot at the big bad himself, Monokuma. Transform into Usami immediately after he comes in and does his pose to avoid taking a multitude of attacks, including whirlwinds, drills, and bombs. If he's still kicking after the transformation wears off, keep drawing circles around him to defeat the bully once and for all.

Equipment[edit]

The equipment screen, featuring Monomi equipped with the most powerful equipment.

While collecting the strongest equipment isn't necessary to clear this game mode, it is certainly a help in dealing with the later bosses. There are three types of equipment: weapons, accessories, and bottoms. These three types of equipment that can be collected throughout the game's stages have four attributes assigned to them: Magic Power, Strength, Defense, and Usami. They affect Monomi in the following ways:

  • Magic Power increases the power of Monomi's trailing magic attacks, allowing her to do more damage to enemies with longer trails.
  • Strength increases the power of Monomi's attacks overall.
  • Defense increases Monomi's resistance to enemy attacks, allowing her to take more damage.
  • Usami increases the amount of time that Monomi can spend in her Usami transformation.

The strongest of each type of equipment are located at the bottom of their respective tables, but if those aren't available to you, select a piece of equipment with the highest of each attribute, or with a balance according to your preferences.
