BOSS: Roller-Snail (ローラースネイル) - This enormous snail shall attack by firing projectiles from the roller from which he gets his name and megaphylls from the two launchers that are mounted on either side of it (the latter of which can be blocked by your own shots, for 50 extra points apiece); therefore, it is advisable to aim for his head first (which is worth 2000 points when destroyed), then aim it for the roller itself (which is worth 3000 points when destroyed). Once you have destroyed the eponymous roller, he will no longer be able to fire any more projectiles at you from it, so you must then aim for the two launchers that are mounted upon either side of it (which are both worth 10000 points when destroyed), to finish him off - he will then emit a scream of death and explode, and you will also receive 30000 more points once he has done so as the text "DESTROYED THE TARGET!!" appears on the screen. You can also aim for one of the "orbs" on either side of his roller to kill him instantly without having to destroy his head, roller, or launchers; however, like Triple-Eye, both of the Strike-Ants, and all of the subsequent bosses in the game (apart from Danger-Seed himself), he will retreat if you take too long over defeating him and the text "MISSED THE TARGET ENEMY!!" will appear on the screen (once again, you shan't incur any penalty).

Walkthrough[edit]

NEXT TARGET IS ROLLER-SNAIL.

Once the screen has faded back in, two groups of ten Orange Tako shall come zigzagging towards you, from the left side of the screen; once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, you will come to four Domu, which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the left and right sides of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, you will come to a Kora which is firing projectiles at you from its position on the left side of the screen - and once you have fired a shot at it to kill it, four Kurage will come flying towards you, as you come to a green (or blue if Alpha Ship has been destroyed, or red if both Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed) Turtle on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, the Turtle shall leave a Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile if Alpha Ship has been destroyed, or Hyper-Bomb if Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed, or Special-Bonus if you have a maximum of four special weapons in storage) behind for you; once you collect the Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile, or Hyper-Bomb, or Special-Bonus), you will come to two more Kora, which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the left side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at both of them to kill them, four more Kurage will come flying towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them you'll come to two more Kora and three more Domu which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the left and right sides of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, four more Kurage will come flying towards you as you come to four more Domu which are firing projectiles at you from their positions upon the left side of the screen; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, four more Kurage shall come flying towards you as you come to four more Kora, which are firing projectiles at you from their positions in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, an Enormous Gani will drop down from the top of the screen and fire twenty small bubbles at you (which can be blocked by your own shots, for 50 extra points apiece) - and once you have fired enough shots at him to defeat him, he will explode, and you will then come to six Hitokage which are firing projectiles at you from their positions in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them another Enormous Gani will drop down from the top of the screen and proceed to fire twenty small bubbles at you (which can again be blocked by your own shots for 50 extra points apiece); once you have fired enough shots at him to defeat him he shall explode and you will come to three more Domu which are firing projectiles at you (from their positions on the right side of the screen). Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to a yellow Turtle, on the right side of the screen - and once you have fired a shot at it to destroy it, it will leave an Energy-Capsule behind. Once you've collected it, four more Kurage shall come flying towards you; once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you'll come to a tenth Kora and two more Domu that are firing projectiles at you (from their positions on the right side of the screen). Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them you'll come to two more Kora and four more Domu that are firing projectiles at you (from their positions on the left side of the screen) - and once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, a third Enormous Gani will drop down from the top of the screen and fire twenty small bubbles at you (which, once again, can be blocked by your own shots for 50 extra points apiece. Once you have fired enough shots at him to defeat him, he will explode, and you will come to another green (or blue if Alpha Ship has been destroyed, or red if both Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed) Turtle on the right side of the screen; once you have fired a shot at it, to destroy it, it will leave a Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile if Alpha Ship has been destroyed, or Hyper-Bomb if both Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed, or Special-Bonus if you have a maximum of four special weapons in storage) behind for you. Once you've collected that Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile, or Hyper-Bomb, or Special-Bonus), ten more Kurage will come flying towards you - and once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to four more Kora which are firing projectiles at you from their positions in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them you'll come to five more Domu and two more Kora which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the right and left sides of the screen; once you've fired a shot at each of these to kill them, you will come to three more Hitokage which are firing projectiles at you from their positions in the centre of the screen. Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, two more groups of ten Orange Tako will come zigzagging towards you from the left side of the screen - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to two more Domu which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at both of them to kill them, you'll come to a third green (or blue if Alpha Ship has been destroyed or red if both Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed) Turtle on the right side of the screen; once you have fired a shot at it, to destroy it, it will leave a Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile if Alpha Ship has been destroyed, or Hyper-Bomb if both Alpha and Beta Ship have been destroyed, or Special-Bonus if you have a maximum of four special weapons in storage) behind. Once you have collected the Ring-Laser (or Melt-Missile, or Hyper-Bomb, or Special Bonus) you will come to two more Kora which are firing projectiles at you from their positions on the left side of the screen - and once you've fired a shot at both of them to kill them, the song that you have been hearing from the Yamaha YM-2151 will fade out. NOTE: If you had the maximum of four special weapons in storage when you'd destroyed the yellow Turtle on this stage, it would have left a Hyper-Booster, behind instead of an Energy-Capsule; again, when you collected it, it would make your ship fly directly to the end of the stage (much like Beraboh Man did when he collected a Shinkansen powerup in his self-titled game) as the text "EMERGENT ESCAPE!! CHALLENGING AREA" appeared on the screen. For the second time, any enemy killed during the Emergent Escape is worth 10 times its usual value.

Once Roller-Snail's theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, a fourth Enormous Gani will drop down from the top of the screen and proceed to fire twenty small bubbles at you (which, yet again, can be blocked by your own shots, for 50 extra points apiece); once you have fired enough shots at him to defeat him, he will explode and twenty Silver Favos will come flying towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to Roller-Snail himself: an enormous snail who attacks by firing projectiles from the roller that gives him his name, and megaphylls from the two launchers mounted on either side of it (which, like the small bubbles fired at you by the Enormous Gani, can get blocked, for 50 extra points apiece). Therefore, it is advisable to aim for his head (which is worth 2000 points when destroyed) first before aiming for his aforementioned roller (which is worth 3000 points when destroyed) - and once you have destroyed his roller he shall no longer be able to fire any more projectiles at you from it, so you should then aim for his two megaphyll launchers (both worth 10000 points when destroyed) to finish him off. Once you've done so, he will emit a scream of death and explode; you'll also receive 30000 more points once he has done so as the text "DESTROYED THE TARGET!!" appears on the screen. You can also aim for one of the two orbs mounted upon either side of his roller to kill him instantly, without having to destroy his head, roller, or launchers - however, like Triple-Eye and the Strike-Ants, he shall retreat if you take too long over defeating him, and the text "MISSED THE TARGET ENEMY!!" will appear on the screen. Regardless of whether you managed to defeat him or not, you will proceed to the fourth stage once the screen has faded out (and this is the last "Tube" stage); the next target is Hunter-Moth, who attacks by firing projectiles from his antennae and fibres from his wings.
