Approach[edit]

Watch for:

  • A red powerup, from the ships approaching from the top-left.
  • A blue powerup, from the ships approaching from the bottom-left.
  • A green powerup, from the ships approaching from the top-left.
  • After the medium-sized ships, a second red powerup from the ships approaching from the bottom-right.

Building[edit]

The building is a typical structure with ceiling and floor turrets. While enemies can approach through the walls, they are not too aggressive and can be easily destroyed.

Golden Ogre first attack

The large enemy will try attacking with a fire breath. If you have collected at least three green powerups, you should be able to destroy its capture ball easily, and claim the vessel for yourself.

Watch for:

  • A green powerup, coming from the top,
  • A green powerup from left-approaching ships
  • Shortly after the large fish appears, a green powerup from the ships at the bottom-right.
  • Shortly after the large fish, an apparently empty alcove at the bottom. Shoot into this alcove to release a gold powerup.
  • After this, a blue powerup.
  • When the building begins to open up to the outside, green and red powerups.
  • Another gold powerup at the bottom corner of the building.

Golden Ogre[edit]

Watch for:

  • A green powerup appearing soon after the medium-sized ships appear.
  • A green powerup, which can only be collected if you destroy the carrying vessel before Golden Ogre approaches.

After Golden Ogre moves off the right of the screen in the background, it will introduce itself by a quick approach and a tail-whip that knocks out a building. While intimidating, this introduction is harmless and does not mean Golden Ogre is dangerous.

Golden Ogre first attack

Golden Ogre has four attacks in its pattern:

  1. While facing backwards, it will fire metal shards from its hull, which will try to block your bullets.
  2. When it turns towards you, it will fire a wide purple beam from his mouth, in a horizontal path.
  3. It will then force you away with a powerful wind.
  4. A few gunports open on its hull, which then fire shots in your general direction.

Experienced players should be able to destroy the boss before it repeats its attack pattern. As a first stage boss, it doesn't have much health and can still be destroyed quickly even if it does manage to repeat the pattern.
