Broodmother is a melee agility hero who is usually played as a pusher and a semi-carry. She possesses great map control and tower pressure, making her one of the most annoying heroes to deal with, and one of the most dangerous heroes if left unattended. Part of her great map control comes from her webs, which are permanent and makes her more survivable underneath. She can also Spawn Spiderlings, amassing a huge army of spiderlings to siege towers and overwhelm enemies. Her Incapitating Bite makes dueling against her a difficult task, and running from her even harder. Her Insatiable Hunger is one of the best lifesteals in the game, making her attacks heal and do a lot of damage, and making most duels against her a losing battle.

Abilities[edit]

Spawn Spiderlings[edit]

Dota 2 broodmother spawn spiderlings.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Units
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 75 / 150 / 225 / 300
  • Count: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
  • Mana Cost: 120
  • Cooldown: 10

Spawn Spiderlings deals damage and applies a debuff on the target for 2 seconds. If the target is killed while the debuff is active, it will spawn Spiderlings. These Spiderlings slow enemies with each attack and will also spawn Spiderites when killing a unit. Spiderites are effectively Spiderlings with less health and damage. Both last for 60 seconds. You can slowly amass a huge army of Spiderlings and Spiderites under your control, which you can use to either jungle while you lane or push towers. It is not a good idea to throw Spiderlings and Spiderites at heroes, especially heroes with AoE skills, since your spiders are fairly squishy and can feed the enemy too much gold. The spell itself is a decent damage nuke against heroes, even if it won't kill a hero.

Spin Web[edit]

Dota 2 broodmother spin web.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Allowed Webs: 2 / 4 / 6 / 8
  • HP Regen: 2 / 4 / 6 / 8
  • Move Speed: 20% / 25% / 30% / 35%
  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 30

Spin Web creates a web that over the targeted area that makes you and all your spiderlings and spiderites invisible, gives you bonus health regeneration and bonus movement speed. You are also granted free pathing while inside a web, letting you move through trees and across cliffs, though the free pathing is disabled when your invisibility is revealed. The webs last permanently, but making a new web when the maximum amount of webs allowed was reached will destroy the oldest web. These webs grant you great map control, and makes you a very difficult hero to lane against, since you can be deep into the enemy side of the lane and still last hit and pressure the tower with ease.

Incapitating Bite[edit]

Dota 2 broodmother incapitating bite.png
  • Ability: Passive
  • Miss Chance: 30% / 40% / 50% / 60%
  • Move Slow: 10% / 20% / 30% / 40%

Incapitating Bite makes you poison enemies you attack for 2 seconds, slowing and making enemies have a chance to miss. It is a Unique Attack Modifier and will not stack with other Unique Attack Modifiers. The slow makes it easier to catch up to fleeing heroes, while the miss makes it harder for them to fight back.

Insatiable Hunger[edit]

Dota 2 broodmother insatiable hunger.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Bonus Damage: 60 / 80 / 100
  • Lifesteal: 40% / 60% / 80%
  • Duration: 14
  • Mana Cost: 100
  • Cooldown: 60 / 45 / 30

Insatiable Hunger temporarily increases your damage and gives you lifesteal. Due to the bonus damage, the hp you can heal from lifesteal is also increased. It gives you a great advantage when dueling with enemy heroes, since the lifesteal and damage will make you outdamage all but very farmed carries. It can also be used out of battle to quickly heal yourself back up by attacking creeps.
