Disruptor is a ranged intelligence hero who is usually played as a support. He has incredible lockdown abilities complemented by good damage spells. His best ability is arguably Kinetic Field, which will trap any enemy units caught inside, making them easy prey for your allies. Glimpse is also a great ability, dragging enemies back into the fray when they think they've escaped. His Thunder Strike is a decent damage nuke, which also does small AoE damage. His ultimate, Static Storm, is a deadly teamfight ability, disabling and dealing lots of damage.

Thunder Strike[edit]

Dota 2 disruptor thunder strike.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Damage: 40 / 60 / 80 / 100
  • Radius: 240
  • Strikes: 4
  • Duration: 6
  • Mana Cost: 130
  • Cooldown: 10

Thunder Strike creates a ball of lightning above the target's head, which will strike it up to 4 times, each time damaging it and any nearby enemies. The damage it deals is pretty decent, and the AoE is a nice bonus. It does have a moderately short cooldown, so you can somewhat spam it. It can be used to push creep waves and for damage dealing during teamfights and ganks.

Dota 2 disruptor glimpse.png
  • Ability: Target Unit
  • Affects: Enemy Heroes
  • Range: 600 / 100 / 1400 / 1800
  • Mana Cost: 160 / 130 / 100 / 70
  • Cooldown: 65 / 50 / 35 / 20

Glimpse sends the enemy target back to its location 4 seconds ago. It also destroys illusions. It can be a very strong ability, as you can pull an escaping enemy right back to where your allies are standing, or into a Kinetic Field. You can also use it to send an enemy who just teleported in back to where they were before. It has an impressive cast range, letting you catch enemies way further than they would expect, but it does have a moderately long cooldown, so you may not have it ready when you need it.

Kinetic Field[edit]

  • Ability: Target Point
  • Radius: 325
  • Formation Time: 1.5
  • Duration: 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4
  • Mana Cost: 70
  • Cooldown: 14

Kinetic Field takes a short while to set up, but will prevent any enemy unit trapped in the field from walking out of its borders. Your allies can still walk in and out of the field freely, so it becomes a very effective ability for trapping key enemy heroes your allies want to focus on.

Static Storm[edit]

Dota 2 disruptor static storm.png
  • Ability: Target Point
  • Damage Type: Magical
  • Radius: 450
  • Max Damage Per Second: 200 / 250 / 300
  • Duration: 5
  • Mana Cost: 125 / 175 / 225
  • Cooldown: 85
  • Scepter Duration: 7

Static Storm creates a storm that silences enemy units within it and deals damage per second. The damage slowly inceases over time. It can be a devastating ability when placed at the right position in a teamfight, as the silence will stop spellcasters and initiators while dealing respectable damage. Do remember that enemies can simply walk out of the storm to stop the effects, but a good Kinetif Field remedies that. In fact, if you manage to catch multiple enemies with a Kineic Field then cast a Static Storm over that area, they will have very few ways of escaping.

Aghanim's Scepter can be bought by Disruptor and will increase the duration of Static Storm, as well as silence the effects of items on enemies caught within.
