Lone Druid is a ranged agility hero who is usually played as a hard carry. Most of his gameplay revolves around him and his Spirit Bear. This bear is incredibly tanky, with abilities that can pin down enemies and push down towers within seconds. He also has Rabid to increase him and his bear's damage output as well as making them strong chasers. His Synergy passively increases the effectiveness of all his other attacks. He can turn into a bear himself and back through his ultimate True Form. Being a bear grants him a lot more durability as well as giving him Battle Cry which makes him even more powerful. Lone Druid is a hero that requires constant micromanagement and a lot of farm to be truly effective, but once he gets his items, killing him will become as hard as avoiding getting killed by him.

Abilities[edit]

Summon Spirit Bear[edit]

Dota 2 lone druid summon spirit bear.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Backlash Damage: 100 / 200 / 300 / 400
  • Mana Cost: 75
  • Cooldown: 180 / 160 / 140 / 120

Summon Spirit Bear summons a bear to fight beside you. The bear can equip up to 6 items, but does not benefit from attribute-increasing items. It cannot attack if it is more than 1100 units away from you. The Spirit Bear is treated as a hero unit, and spells that have different effects for creeps and heroes will apply the hero effect on the Spirit Bear. If the Spirit Bear dies, you suffer some composite backlash self-damage. This bear is a major part of Lone Druid's playstyle, and much of your gameplay will revolve tagging between the bear and yourself. It is very durable, having more than 1000 health at level 1. It's abilities also makes it a deadly fighter and pusher. In fact, a lucky Entangling Claws proc on a fleeing hero is usually all it takes to finish that hero off. You do have to take care of the bear, since not only you will suffer self-damage if it dies, you will also have to contend with the long cooldown, and having a dead bear while the spell is still in cooldown is disastrous. Your enemies will also get a hefty 300 Gold bounty from killing it, almost as much as having a hero killed. The bear's Demolish also makes it a potent pusher, and once it has some damage-increasing items equipped, it can bring down towers within seconds.

Rabid[edit]

Dota 2 lone druid rabid.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Attack Speed: 10% / 20% / 30% / 40%
  • Movement Speed: 5% / 10% / 15% / 20%
  • Duration: 10
  • Mana Cost: 50
  • Cooldown: 30

Rabid temporarily increases the attack and movement speed for you and your bear. It is a basic buff, but it is quite effective, as more attack speed means more damage output and more movement speed means a better chance at escaping or chasing heroes. With Synergy, the spell's duration becomes ridiculously high, lasting up to 50 seconds.

Synergy[edit]

  • Ability: Passive
  • Bear Bonus HP: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40
  • Bear Bonus Speed: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40
  • Rabid Duration Bonus: 10 / 20 / 30 / 40
  • True Form Bonus HP: 100 / 200 / 300 / 400

Synergy directly increases the strength of your other skills. It gives your Spirit Bear more HP and speed, increases the duration of Rabid and gives you more hp in True Form.

True Form[edit]

Dota 2 lone druid true form.png
  • Ability: No Target
  • Base Attack Time: 1.5
  • Bonus Armor: 4 / 6 / 8
  • Bonus HP: 250 / 400 / 600
  • Base Speed Loss: 45
  • Mana Cost: 25

True Form transfroms you into a bear, making you a melee hero and losing some of your movement speed. You do gain attack speed, bonus armor and bonus HP. You can freely switch between druid and bear forms any time you wish as long as you have the mana. You are actually invulnerable during the switching animation, so you can use it to dodge spells. Most of the time you should stay in True Form, as the increased durability and damage output outweighs its disadvantages.

Druid Form[edit]
