You've now reached the final part of the mission. This level is large, icky, severe, and difficult, and is relatively hard to move around in. The main objective is to successively disable several forcefields to gain access to the tunnel that leads down to the Core. In the process, you'll have a lot of repetitious backtracking to do.

Getting around[edit]

As soon as you go through the door you'll be accosted by wall emplacements that launch pellet bombs. Look for them right away, because they're easy to miss and you'll be wondering what keeps blowing up around you. This and the next room are both similar L-shaped rooms with overlooking areas. In the first room you'll see a Mazrium platform, a doorway up on the wall blocked by a forcefield, and an out-of-reach nook with a switch. There's also an Invulnerable floating in the air out of reach near the corner.

Go through this and the next room, to a lift. You might get a filthy-dirty Roto-droid ambush at the top, if you peeked up there and went back down the lift. At any rate, be on guard. You could use Low-Grav Boots and get the Invulnerable in the other room. After dealing with them, hit the shootable switch to raise a ramp to the overlooking part. Later on you'll be able to activate the off-line teleporter and save some running around.

Continue to the next room, where there's a cage of Boonwa and a locked door. At the far end is a switch that unlocks the door but also releases the Boonwa. Before hitting it, look near the corner for a bright section of wall with a misaligned texture. There's a secret area inside. In the corridor past the door, watch out for a launcher on the ceiling. Continue on to a huge, tall, deep chamber filled with red-waste. A bunch of irregular platforms provide a way to get through. Before continuing, get rid of all the ceiling launchers and wall emplacements in here to make things more pleasant later. Also, there are lots of items down in the red-waste and floating in the air below the platforms (look for them on the automap).

There are two ways to continue: your current objectives are past the opposite end of the chamber. If you like, take a look at the passage to the right. This leads to the tunnel to the core, but the corridor continues out of reach above, plus there's a forcefield farther down. The locked door to the right can be opened later; there's a secret area inside.

(If you want to see a level-design "oops" use Low-Grav Boots to jump up to the corridor, then take the teleporter to the left. You'll be in the room behind the forcefield in the first L-shaped room. The forcefield looks down, but if you try to run through, "Bump." The forcefield is actually still up. What happened is the level-designers forgot to put a "forcefield" texture on this side of the line. Normally you'd come here much later through this doorway and not notice the missing texture.)

Back in the big chamber, continue past the far exit to the next room. In here are two columns, an overlooking ledge, and a passage out of reach up on the wall. First, go up to the ledge and shoot the switch to start a Mazrium platform on a loop through the room. From this platform you can reach the passage up on the wall. Before continuing, look behind one of the columns for a switch. This opens a hidden teleporter on the ledge that goes back to that off-line teleporter you saw earlier. Because you'll need to come through this part of the level several more times, it'll save time. It also counts as a secret area.

Down the passage on the wall are the overlooking areas in the two L-shaped rooms. Continue through a doorway to the left, to a series of overlooking platforms in two adjacent rooms. You'll need to jump down to both rooms and complete tasks: the "near room" and "far room" below. In each room you'll see an item floating in the air. Remember to jump for them if you want them, to save coming all the way back around. At the end of the far room is a side area up on the wall, with items. Before jumping for it, shoot that thing growing on the chain, and it won't get in the way. (If you look on the automap, you'll see what looks like a hidden door going to the overlook in the second L-shaped room, that doesn't seem to open. This opens for the "fly-through" after you finish the level.)

Far room[edit]

Jump down and go to the next room, where there's a locked door and a teleporter blocked by a forcefield. Find and hit the switch in this room to unlock the door, and go to the next room, where there's a sludge-filled pit with a column in the middle. Hit the switch by the pit to open the column, revealing a power conduit, and release some enemies from a side area. Destroy the conduit to disable the forcefield up on the wall in the first L-shaped room. In the side room is a switch that reopens the door to this room, plus lowers the forcefield at the teleporter outside. Before leaving, take a look at the console: it shows a long, deep passage with sludge and overhead platforms, going down into darkness. This is the tunnel to the Core you're trying to get to. First, one more forcefield. Take the teleporter outside, which goes back to the level entrance.

Near room[edit]

Go back around the level to and past the overlooks in the L-shaped rooms, jump down to the near room and go through the oddly-sloped corridor to a tall room with sludge, a surrounding ledge and a big white construct. Jump over the steps in the sludge to the other side of that column on your right. Hit the switch you didn't see earlier to start a Mazrium platform moving over the sludge. Use this to get up to the ledge, and go over to the white construct. You'll find what looks like a deactivated teleporter, but it's actually functional, and goes back to the level entrance. (It looks like the level designers forgot to make it non-functional before the power conduit is destroyed. Instead, all that happens is a "TransActive" decoration is spawned into place afterward.) First, go inside the construct and follow the passage that spirals up, and destroy the power conduit you come to. This lowers the forcefield blocking the core-access tunnel.

Tunnel[edit]

All that's left now is to get to the core-access tunnel. Make your way back to the overlooking area in the first L-shaped room, and take the Mazrium platform across to the doorway on the wall. On the way over, jump to the nook up on the wall to your left and hit the switch inside. This unlocks that door near the tunnel entrance. Take the teleporter: it goes to the upper part of the entrance corridor. Jump down to the secret area you just unlocked if you want, then come back around up to the corridor. Now go the other way, and you'll finally reach the access tunnel. Just past where the forcefield was, look to the right for a misaligned section of wall. There's a secret area with an Invulnerable inside. There's a bunch of items along the tunnel, including down in the sludge. With the Invulnerable you can explore everything and not worry about damage.

Make your way over the platforms to the far end of the tunnel. If you fall off, the two teleporters down below go back to the top of the corridor. Now, only one thing awaits: the Core. There's a load of ammo there, so don't worry if you're not 100% stocked here. The main thing is to make sure you're full on health. When you're finished here and ready, take the exit teleporter. G'or awaits.
