Faceball 2000 (SNES) is a 3D first-person shooter created by Xanth Software and published in North America by Bullet-Proof Software on Game Boy and SNES and in Japan by Riverhillsoft on the Game Gear.
The game is set in a virtual reality where players are assigned a HAPPYFACE (Holographically Assisted Physical Pattern Yielded For Active Computerized Embarkation) and placed in a maze to shoot other players or AI-controlled enemies called Smiloids. Everything is rendered in 3D in a small screen with a large HUD to keep track of your health, stats, and powerups.
Cyberzone is an SNES-exclusive mode with a series of arenas where you shoot enough Smiloids to unlock the exit and move on to the next level. Cyberscape has the player navigate and solve mazes to find the exit while keeping Smiloids off their back. Arena pits two to four players against each other in one of sixteen mazes or one to four players working together to shoot Smiloids in the same mazes.
