Infiltrate!! The Everlue Mansion!!

The story begins when Lucy Heartfilia finds that Natsu Dragneel and his flying cat companion, Happy, have broken into her apartment. Fortunately enough, the duo have some good news: they found a simple job worth 200,000 Jewels. Lucy, in need of rent money, agrees to accompany the two. When they arrive, their client informs them of their quest: retrieve a book called DAYBREAK by infiltrating the wealthy Duke Everlue’s mansion, and destroy it. No sooner have Natsu, Lucy, and Happy entered the mansion than Everlue suspects them to be mages and has his maid, Virgo, attack them.

Battle 1: Natsu vs. Virgo

Virgo is powerful, but with three magic attacks on hand, Natsu is just as tough. Her magic attacks are a bit hard to dodge, including one in which she digs through the ground and travels through it before coming back up on Natsu’s position. However, Virgo barely performs any basic combos, meaning she takes a lot of time to charge her magic. Take this time to charge your own magic or attack. The battle should conclude easily.

As Natsu distracts Virgo, his companions retreat to the sewers so Lucy can uncover the mystery within the pages of the newly-found DAYBREAK. Unfortunately, it isn’t long until Everlue finds and assaults them. As Lucy is overpowered, Happy decides to try his chances.

Battle 2: Happy vs. Everlue

Happy is a lot smaller than Everlue, but he can still do some easy damage with his claws. Since Happy has no magic attacks available to him just yet, you can attack easily whenever Everlue charges. Additionally, Happy has more range on his claws than Natsu does on his punches, and a full combo is enough to knock Everlue to the ground. When he does get enough magic charged, Everlue can dig into the ground and uppercut Happy as Virgo could do to Natsu. He can also summon two of his bodyguards to attack Happy; one of the quick-moving Vanish Brothers charges toward Happy from Everlue’s position, while Virgo rises up from the ground. Without any magic, you’ll have to focus a bit on defense.

Instead of simply guarding, Happy can evade by flying. Press and hold Up dpad and Happy will launch himself high into the air, effectively dodging Everlue’s attacks. Drop back down once you’re ready to counterattack, and simply claw away until his health is fully depleted.

Following the battle, Natsu is reunited in the sewers with Lucy and Happy, but an angry Virgo is right on his trail.

Battle 3: Natsu vs. Virgo

Round 2 between Natsu and Virgo will be a bit more difficult than the first. Virgo occasionally whips out a broom for a well-ranged attack. She also guards frequently by standing in place and puffing out her chest, and does not get knocked down so easily, instead jumping up before the fall. Nevertheless, this battle is more tedious than difficult. With Natsu’s powerful magic attacks it’s simply a matter of cornering her and running out her health bar.

With Natsu distracting Virgo, Lucy performs a counterattack on the man behind the trouble himself.

Battle 4: Lucy vs. Everlue
Fairy Tail GMK battle 4.png

Everlue acts much the same as he did with Happy, but playing as Lucy should make fighting Everlue a bit easier. Both her X button and Y button magic attacks are extremely useful; Taurus’ ax can hit from any position, and Aquarius’ waves span the entire screen. Even her basic whip attack has excellent range. There are only a couple of downsides to Lucy’s most powerful summon, Aquarius: firstly, Aquarius’ dislike of her master has her disregarding her safety, and so Lucy gets swept up in the waves as well. Although this doesn’t do any damage to Lucy, it does immobilize her for as long as the attack goes on. Secondly, Everlue tends to intercept this special with his own, in which case he can summon one of the Vanish Brothers to cancel it out and do damage to Lucy, essentially wasting her magic.

Despite the minor drawbacks, Lucy is powerful enough that this battle should go by quickly.

Save after the battle and the chapter will conclude.
