As soon as you choose your designated character you are transported to Carbon City. The first Quest you'll see pop up is to Find Your Brotherhood Paladins.

Receiving Quest[edit]

Wander around Carbon City to find some items while acquainting yourself with the city and your controls. When you're done, talk to the town prostitute. She standing near the bar on the north side of town.

She'll tell you all about the raiders in the bar roughing up customers. So it's now your job to kill them all. Equip your Iron Gloves before entering and place your Home-made Pistol in standby. Enter the bar. There should be ten of them. If you get hurt during the fight, you might have to use a Stimpak. If you don't, just remember that your health recharges itself automatically. After you wipe them all out, talk to Armpit the bartender. You'll notice that you've completed the first quest while talking with him. Ask him about his name, then ask him about his big plans. He'll tell you what they are. Go in with him on it to make a few extra bucks.

Armpit says the mayor should know some more on the subject so you're supposed to go talk to him. So leave the bar and head out into the town square. You'll find the mayor in the northwest part of town. Tell him you'll clear out all the radscorpions to get another quest. The quest is to Kill the Warehouse Scorpions. You can also threaten the mayor to get fifty caps. After harassing him, make your way over to the warehouse. It lies to the east. Enter it to start your radscorpion killing spree.

Warehouse[edit]

The first area is the warehouse main storage. There are twenty-five radscorpions in this area. It's pretty straight forward. Just walk through killing them. It's best to work 'em one at a time to avoid being ganged up on. As soon as you enter, just head forward and kill the four or five waiting for you. Make sure that you pick up their tails. Then head SW and open the door to get some goodies, continue on throughout this area. It's a big square so it shouldn't bee too hard to just head through and take everything out.

Note: Make sure you break all boxes and open all lockers. The items will help you lots on your journey.

When you get all the way to the east on top you'll see a door which you can't enter yet. You'll need that later. When you've killed all the Radscorpions in this area, head up towards the SE. Then the path only goes one way so make your way through it killing a few more radscorpions along the way.

Note: Always hit every corner in a building so you don't miss any secret areas or items.

Garage[edit]

After you've gone through a little more of the level, open up the garage door to the south. You'll want to head up toward the west after that to hit another garage door. After going through here save at the save console. Continue on your way. A helpful way to go through levels is to work your way around the edge then into the middle, as to not miss anything. Follow that rule in this room. Move in a counter-clockwise motion. By the time you get all the way around to see the whole map, you will have defeated all radscorpions in this area. Then head into the middle of the room to pick up the Medical Supplies. The Medical Supplies are a quest item for later in the game. Run along to the NW, and it's into the warehouse auxiliary storage we go.

In here there are twenty-three radscorpions to kill, but a slight problem lies in your path. A large shipping crate prevents you from reaching the nest. Just kill as many as you can for now. Then head clockwise this time, but skip going through the door to the north. Instead head all the way around until you come to a hallway in the SE. Break open the wall where it looks a little shady, then head through getting all the goodies along the way (there should be a few lockers along with a few stimpaks sitting out). Make sure you learn to jump well so you can leap over the nuclear waste without giving up life. Head back out to the main area from which you came forth.

Note: Shoot red barrels from afar. They explode on impact and cause major damage to everything near.

Save Townspeople[edit]

It's time to check out the door you passed on the way through. Head down the hallway to save the townsperson. Speak with him after beating down a few annoying radscorpions. He'll reward you with some items. Then head west down another hallway. Break through another shady wall on your east and head through to collect a few stimpaks and such. Save your game again at the save module. Go through the next room and turn north. Break down the wall on your right to find more goodies, then continue on. You can open up lots of things you might not normally think to open up so if you think it might work, stand by it. If you're able to get something out of it, it will say something on the screen. Walk through a couple more hallways until you come to a door ahead of you. Open it and kill the remaining scorpions. Then it's off to the staircase.

Note: You may have one radscorpion remaining if you didn't kill the one through the wall over on the East side. Don't worry if you didn't, we'll come back to it soon.

Second Floor[edit]

Climb up the stairs to get to the warehouse second floor. There are nine radscorpions on this floor. But there's also a hell of a lot of giant rats so don't be fooled by this message. Rummage through a few lockers as soon as you arrive on this floor. Save if necessary and head out the door. Head west first to pick up a few items. Then backtrack and start making a loop to the east. Make sure you check out the SW corner for some goodies as well. Head on down the path and turn south when the path curves. Kill the scorpions that lay waiting for you up ahead. Then it's more curves of the path before you can proceed. Up ahead you'll kill the last of the radscorpions on this floor.

Hit the switches on both lifts to rise up and/or drop boxes so you can pick up items below, and also get through to the nest that was blocked. They are located to the south and the southwest on this floor. After hitting a dead end circle back around and head down the stairs. When downstairs find yourself a save console and save your game. Now remember that second lift we hit to drop the boxes. Well go collect all of its goodies. It's in the SE. After doing that, find your way back out to the main room. It should lie to the east. After getting back into the main room, you're gonna want to head into the basement which lies to the south.

Boss Battle: Giant Radscorpion[edit]

To kill this baby requires a little guts and a few stimpaks. Here's the deal. Equip your strongest melee weapon and go at his claws. After they're gone equip your strongest gun and chisel away his health. As you do this though, be aware of your health, just use a stimpak whenever necessary and you'll be fine. You should have about 25-30 by now. After you've killed him, make your way around to find the remaining ammo and stimpaks lying around, then head out to see the mayor.

Tell him all the radscorpions are dead to get a key to the elevator shaft at the edge of the town. Head over to the bar when you're finished talking with the mayor. Talk to Ruby the prostitute to discover she needs help finding Mr. Pussy. Now we know what you're thinking cause we thought it too, and it's not like that. Well at least not yet. Ba-zing. Tell her that you'll help her find HER CAT Mr. Pussy. This brings up a new quest: Find Ruby's Cat. Go talk to Armpit at the bar to exchange your tails for money. Talk to the stranger in the corner too before you leave. Then head out of the bar and into the crater.

Crater[edit]

The crater is pretty easy to navigate if you have the map on. Just circle around the edges, and hit the middle on the way back up. You're gonna want to head to the NW first to pick up a few supplies out of a footlocker. The way to get over to it is to jump from rock to rock.

Note: If you fall down into the crater, you'll have to start your game over from the last point you saved so be VERY careful.

After getting the goodies from the nether regions of the crater's abyss, head over to the northwest to continue through what used to be the rest of Carbon City. Soon you'll come to the newest member of the enemy community, Cockroaches. They are very fast and take a few hits to drop, but ultimately, they're more annoying than they are a big threat. Finally you'll come to a save module. Save your game and continue on.

Head into the house farthest south to find Mr. Pussy dead on the ground. Pick him up anyways, and continue on towards the NE. Go in as many houses as you can on the way. When you finally reach the house split in half near the NW side of town you'll have to do a little jumping again. Head into the house and break down a wall, after that you'll want to cross over the overturned pickup and jump across the ravine. Save your game quickly and move on.

The Pits[edit]

Head through the houses then pick up some items out of the pick-up. After you do that, it's back to the west through a few more houses with mucho treasure in them. Then some more leaping to the north and east should get you across the pits. When you reach the other side, save your game. Then get all the items and weapons the house to the south has to offer before heading down to another level.

Just so you get the layout of the map, the next area makes a big S. Start off by heading east. Soon you'll come to some radscorpion eggs. Just kill whatever comes out of them and ignore the ones that don't hatch. You'll be jumping a hell of a lot in this area so make sure you're good at it. Hone up on those mad jumpin' skills if you aren't. Hit all the corners of this level because you wont be able to on your way out. The cockroaches hate flames by the way, so if you have a torch, use it on them. Follow the big S shaped course around until you come to some toxic waste. You'd better save your game because it won't get any easier up ahead. advertisement

The next part is straightforward. Make your way through the next few rooms and tunnels avoiding the toxins, and killing radscorpions and tons of cockroaches along the way. Finally after two toxic roomfuls of waste you'll be at the next boss. Save before entering. When your health is full, and you have everything you need to equipped, walk in.

Boss Battle: The Mayor Of Carbon[edit]

This boss fight is a little tougher than the last one, but you should be prepared for it. The mayor has been helping out the raiders this whole time, like crooked politicians do. The mayor isn't stupid either so he's not going to fight alone. He brings some bad-ass raiders to help him. And he packs some serious heat as well. He throws grenades at you, and they don't damage him either, so it's up to you to take him down.

Equip your Torch, you should have one by now. The key is to chase him down, get a couple of hits in, then run away when he starts throwing grenades at you. The good part about this is, you will barely get any damage by the time you start running away, and the raiders who are following you are behind you and will take the brunt of the attack. Plus, with the torch, you don't always have to be near him for him to take damage. The burning will continue for a few seconds after you run away. After you explode him, get ready to collect everything and run.

One of the explosions from the mayors' grenades must have triggered a landslide, so we gotta get your heiny out of here, and quick. On your way out watch out, for falling rocks and the enemies that have reappeared. Included in these enemies are the much disliked raiders, who are mad about you killing their friends. Just follow the same path you took to get here. When you get to the radscorpion nest mommy is back, and she isn't a very happy camper. Destroy her like you did the other giant scorpion. Then head out the door. You are going to want to trace your path back to the main square of Carbon City. So make your way along until you get back to the surface.

Note: There will be a lot of raiders waiting for you so make it quick back to the upper level.

Upper Crater[edit]

You'll receive a bunch of experience for making it back alive. When you get to the surface though, it's only more trouble. They've killed Armpit, or nearly killed him. Talk to him to find out what's happened. You'll find out that everyone is in the warehouse. Ask him about radscorpion tails. He'll give you the Radscorpion Liquor Recipe. Then you get a new quest: Town Under Attack. Go to the warehouse killing all the raiders on the way there.

To save people in town, press the action button. You'll be rewarded for each one you save. Talk to the people in the warehouse. They'll tell you they ain't moving til all the raiders are dead in town. So again, they call upon you to save them. Thus begins the quest: Rescue Innocents. Head out and circle around town, killing raiders and saving people. You should move around clockwise, this is the best and fastest way to go.

Saving Townspeople Again[edit]

After you've cleared out the raiders in this area, head to the west side of town to start in on a whole new batch. As soon as you go through the door, save the people running towards you. Then quickly dismantle the raiders in this area as well. The best way to go about this in this area is to take it south first, then move into the building over there. Head north and destroy a few more enemy raiders. You'll need to get behind the fence so run along it until you find your way around. Then you have a few options. You want to save your game somewhere. Also you'll want to head to the bottom east and search a footlocker for a weapon.

After that, just start walking NW leaving a trail of blood as you go. Beware of exploding debris, barrels, and buildings. Make sure you grab another new weapon to the NW as well, it's your very own Flame-thrower. Yippeee. Pass through the train to move on to the north side of town.

Town Northside[edit]

The north side of town is much easier to navigate than any others. After clearing out a huge amount of raiders and ugly ass dogs, you'll probably want to equip your long-ranged weapon right about now. You should have a fairly decent one by now, so equip it and start sniping some of these bad boys. That's all this area consists of for enemies. Its pretty much straight path down as well. Just move along as quickly as you can darting into alleyways on the side for stimpaks. Jump the railroad tracks when you finally get to them, and jump into the boxcar to mow down enemies beyond. After that it's not too much farther until you hit the east side of town.

Save upon entering the east side. Shoot everyone you see, then head west there is nothing to the east. Enter the house to save the girl. Then make your way through. Continue south. Save a few citizens and head north. Make your way to the gate so you can flip the switch, and get ready for a wicked fight. Waste a few raiders in an alleyway to the SW. Watch out for the exploding buildings around you and be sure to have a few stimpaks ready. Head back and finish off the remainder of raiders behind you, if you missed any.

Warehouse[edit]

Head back to the main square through the exit in the west, then into the warehouse. Talk to Ruby to complete the quest with her kitty, then you'll get a new quest: Find Ruby's Necklace. After that, talk to Vidya take on the quest: Defeat The Raiders. Give her the medical supplies for a nice reward as well. Then talk to the wasteland stranger. Finally, go update your supplies and talk to Jesse the trader before heading out. He'll give you the Warehouse Key. Head to the warehouse and enter the door you couldn't get into before (it's to the east).

Stock up on stimpaks before you leave; you'll find they are the key to surviving no matter how hard it gets. Kill all the dogs when you walk out, then move on. Look in all the alleyways in this area, as they all contain something. Head through the alleyway in the NW it turns into a mine-lined road. The key with landmines is to jump in between them. Also, if one starts blinking by you, it's gonna explode, so get ready with a stimpak. Hop over all the mines, then the fence at the end. Kill all the raiders messing with the cows, or if you're feeling a bit naughty you can set the cows aflame for that nice hamburger smell.

Raiders[edit]

After that you'll need to find a key to get into the fenced off area. Kill all of the raiders surrounding the gate and quickly move around it clockwise. Kill all the raiders and all the dogs in the pen. Make your way over the boxcar to the north and continue on. Beat up all the raiders here and collect Ruby's Necklace . Save your game to the north then move along... nothing to see here. Make your way into the compound and move extremely carefully (just remember our advice about landmines and you should be good). One of the raiders in this area has your key, so kill them all. After you've got the key, head through the fence you couldn't get through. Now its on to the sawmill in the SE.

You'll want to head north and enter some buildings. Make sure to clean 'em out for all the supplies you can. Watch out for all the mines in the west. Stay near the wall and head down a little alleyway. Enter the house to your west to snipe some raiders. Exit after killing everyone you can plainly see, then make your way north. Kill a few more raiders and head on. Get on the road going east that is littered with landmines. Stay clear of the cars and do your shooting from a distance. Then go through the gate they seemed to be guarding.

Parking Lot[edit]

This brings you into a parking lot devoid of enemies, where your good friend Jesse is waiting for you. Look around for goodies, then save your game and go talk with him. He'll tell you that you must turn off the security system in order to enter the mill. This will give you the quest: Activate The Reactor.

So you're forced to take the low road to the west into the storage area. Take the road to the NE, then make your way back on the other side. Kill everyone you encounter (they will be a lot stronger than the first raiders you met). Move onto the end of this hallway. There are two sets of doors, go through the second set (you won't be able to enter the blue ones just yet). In the second set you can flip the switch for the blue doors. Pick up a very valuable Vault 13 Flask . Then head back to the blue doors you were just at. Break down the wall where it looks a little shady then continue on.

Abandoned Garage[edit]

You'll be in what seems to be an abandoned garage. Kill everyone and all the dogs. Save your game at the console, then head out through the blue doors. Then another set of blue doors. You'll want to get on the pipes that run across one catwalk to another. Kill everyone here. Head to the East and rummage through the garbage pile to get a worn key. Make your way back west. A raider will open a door if you just wait for him at the end (it's locked if you try to open it). Rush in and storm the party. Turn the switch on.

Follow the path to the east, and jump to the inside circle of catwalks. Move around in a circular pattern until you get to the generator. Turn that bad boy on. Jump back out to the outer square catwalks. And exit the way you came in. Head out the previously locked door. Watch out for all the sparks from the breakers that are malfunctioning. Avoid them and move along. In the next area you're going to want to find the control panel and flick it on. Move along and come to a room where the worn key comes in handy. Use it here and grab all the goodies including the Incendiary Mortar. Then head out the door on the south. Finally you'll come to a save module. Save and exit to the office area.

Mill Storage[edit]

Head west when you enter, then enter the room to the north for some armor and items. You can also flush the toilet for some giggles if you want. Move on, but whatever you do don't open the door all the way to the south. The built up pressure will explode and kill you. After killing the enemies to the south move east. Keep moving to the east, and you'll have to disable another breaker. Do that and save at the next save point. Also beware of raiders throwing grenades. advertisement

Move along to the north to get some more ammo. Then head back to the SE. This next area is up to you how to do, just make sure you get all the items in this area, they will help you out a lot. When you're finished wreaking havoc on the poor raiders who happened to have met you, head to the south to save and move on. It's out to the mill storage area.

If you killed all the enemies in this area you have nothing to worry about, just make your way back to the parking lot. Talk with Jesse again. You'll want to sell any old weapons, buy some stimpaks, and save your game one final time. Then head north for another exciting boss battle.

Boss Battle: Jane, The Raider Matron[edit]

As soon as you start asking the matron questions you'll get a quest update: Kill The Raider Matron . Tell her off then get ready for a battle. The following weapons are the best to use, in order of best to worst. Incendiary Mortar, Sub-Machine Gun, Grenades, Then your Double Barrel Shotgun. Equip whichever works best for you and let's take that traitor down. She fires in rounds, so move until she's done firing, then stop and take a few shots at her. Start running again when she fires at you. If you're good at it she will hit you maybe twice. When you've finally wasted her, go get her gun and head out to the parking lot.

Exit Carbon[edit]

Head out and tell Jesse you've done her in. He'll take you back to the main square. Now talk to everyone in town and do anything you need to in Carbon, cause you won't be seeing it again. Your new quest is to Exit Town.
