You've made it to the final level, Salfar, the star where an evil spirit was born. The seven bosses that you previously defeated will reappear here, one after the other. Before you start, you get one last chance to visit the shop and stock up on equipment. Choose wisely since you won't get another opportunity. There are two schools of thought when it comes to shopping. One is to stock up on as many Heavy Bombs as you can afford and use them against the bosses who are particularly vulnerable to it. The other is to select nothing other than Twin Shots and Twin Bombs since that is all you can ultimately rely upon by the end of the stage. The bosses will appear and attack Opa-Opa much more quickly than they did in the past, so you must be prepared to fight once the previous boss is defeated. Note that since the shop will no longer appear, defeated bosses do not drop coins.

Progression[edit]

Plaleaf Boss: Stumpalon

Tabas Boss: Volanda

Stumpalon will fire pellets at you with greater frequency than before. Line up with his mouth as it moves up and down, and shoot it while it's open. The rate at which Volanda drops the seeds will increase, as does the speed at which they fall. Focus on dodging the seeds as soon as they appear, then return to the center of the screen to continue your attack.
La Dune Boss: Cobabeach

Dolimicca Boss: Crabumger

The fight with Cobabeach will be nearly identical to the one from La Dune. However, as expected, the beams that he fires will be fired off much more quickly than before. Take the cannons out from top to bottom, or bottom to top. Prioritize evading Crabumger's bullets over attacking him. Fire continuously from the left side of the screen while you dodge attacks. When both tentacles are mostly orange, try to aim for the remaining pods.
Polaria Boss: Poppoos

Mockstar Boss: Winklone

Once again, it is safer to wait out the snowmen attack by eliminating the first column of 8 tiny snowmen, and two from the next column, and then rotating around the outside edge of the screen until the snowmen stop shooting and rush to attack you. The arms of clouds will increase the speed of their rotation at a much faster rate than before. Without a Jet Engine, this fight can be the most difficult. Don't despair if you can't get more than one shot off in a pass, fight patiently to stay alive.
Pocarius Boss: Ida 2

Salfar Boss: Opapa

You may find the pace at which Ida 2 breaks apart and reforms to be strikingly fast, but you can use this to your advantage. If you toss out a bomb at the point of his reunification, you can hit him right when he joins back together. When you have defeated all seven of the other bosses, the background scrolling will accelerate and the final boss will appear. He will then move back to the right side of the screen, remaining just outside the battle, while the six aliens that inhabit him will attack you.

Final Boss[edit]

Six "Nenon" are sequentially released from the final boss. They each move in a particular pattern, and they leave a blue trail behind them wherever they go that remains on the screen until they are defeated. Opa-Opa will be killed if he touches either the Nenon or the blue line. Each alien gets progressively faster than the last. They will be destroyed if you hit them with five twin shots. The trick to beating them is to understand the pattern of their movements. If you have some Heavy Bombs still saved up, now's the time to use them. Note that since the stage stops scrolling at this point, they will fall straight down rather than at a slight angle from Opa-Opa's position.

1st Nenon

2nd Nenon

The first Nenon moves up and down the screen, moving over to the left each time it hits the top or bottom. The second Nenon moves around the outer edge of the screen, cycling back around once it meets up with the center of the right edge of the screen.
3rd Nenon

4th Nenon

The third Nenon alternates between covering the top side of the screen, and covering the right side of the screen, progressively advancing to the lower left corner. The fourth Nenon moves a bit like the first alien, except that it leaves large gaps behind which it later begins to fill in when it reaches the left side of the screen and starts to return.
5th Nenon

6th Nenon

The fifth Nenon advances to the left, and then moves up or down depending on Opa-Opa's location. Once it has matched heights with Opa-Opa, it returns to the right, and then repeats the process. The sixth and final Nenon simply seeks Opa-Opa out no matter where he goes on the screen. In this way, it is actually possible to trick the alien into trapping and killing itself, but it is difficult to do. Regardless, waiting until it aligns with Opa-Opa vertically and dropping a Heavy Bomb makes short work of it.

Once the last Nenon is defeated, the final boss, Opapa, will surrender in defeat, and you will be treated to the ending of the game. Congratulations.
