Back to the castle[edit | edit source]

You return to the castle triumphantly with the princess. However, the king's idea to marry the princess off to whoever rescues her does not go according to plan. Nevertheless, a celebration ensues, complete with caviar.

  • GUARDS: Oh, the princess! I am glad you are safe.
  • KING: This is the princess, indeed! Thank you for bringing her back to me.
PRINCESS: Oh, father! I thought I would never see you again! Are the royal scrolls safe?
KING: Do not worry, the scrolls are safe in a place that only I know of.
PRINCESS: Where are they hidden, my father? Please tell me!
GUARD: By the way, highness, what are you going to do about the promises you have made to the townspeople?
KING: Well, since the hero is female, I cannot give my daughter to her... How about if she were to become my wife?
PRINCESS: That is silly! You have embarassed her.
KING: That is too bad. Soldier, give the townspeople the caviar that I bought two days ago. Let us have a party!
  • When the party started... GUARD: Your Highness! It is an emergency! The caviar was poisoned! All the townspeople are sick and in the hospital.
KING: This was my mistake. I bought the caviar from a mysterious masked man. Hero, go and see how things are in the township. Good luck!

You must now travel back to the Town of Ehdo, where indeed the townsfolk have fallen ill. The woman in the hospital asks you to travel across the ocean to find medicine that can cure the people.

  • GUARD: It is an emergency! Everyone has become ill after eating the caviar.
  • HEALER: Everyone became sick after eating poisoned caviar. Please go to the township beyond the ocean for the medicine.
  • MAGE: I need some medicine.
  • MAN: Bring me some medicine.

With the town in such a state, your only option is to visit the port to the west of Ehdo which is now open for business. However, before you do, it is a good idea to get into the habit of buying Wings to return to Ehdo. In fact, you should regularly buy two Wings, one to return to wherever you came from so you don't need to keep paying for trips, and one to return to Ehdo where you can save and buy more Wings.

Pay the fare to travel across the ocean to the continent beyond. When you arrive, leave the new port and head to the west. Follow the land to the south and you will come upon the next town.

Town of Karuza[edit | edit source]

Karuza is pretty small, and doesn't contain much in the way of shopping, just one lone item store. It doesn't even have a hospital for you to visit and heal your wounds. You will learn that the means to gather medicine can be reached across a bridge, but that you need something called the Mysterious Seeds to repair the bridge. You'll also hear about a cave where you can find golden stones, but before you explore the cave, you should attempt to find the next town, which is located far to the north, and further to the west.

  • INNKEEPER: This is the best inn in the township.
  • SHOPKEEPER: Use the battery to make the flashlight work.

Town of Highria[edit | edit source]

Highria is a bit of a walk from Karuza, but it's well worth the trip. There is some incredible equipment for sale here, although much of it is as expensive as it is powerful. At the very least, you should be able to save up enough for items like the Steel sword and a Bamboo bow. Unfortunately, none of the items sold will increase your defense, but the boost to your offense is welcome. On top of that, collecting the necessary funds is also a good excuse to grind for more experience points and reach higher levels which does increase your defense, as well as give you more health. Be aware that some monsters here can poison you. Carry around some B antidotes just in case, or your health will slowly drain until you are cured.

Highria is known as a paper town. You'll get a bit more information from the residents, including how there is a monster in a nearby tower who doesn't like a certain type of stone. You may also hear about a green monster in a forest. Sure enough, if you explore the patch of woods near Highria, you may discover a lizard who only says "Gao". He can't help you now, but remember him for later. Before you head to the Tower of Broww, you'll need to locate that stone. It's time to return to the cave that was just north of Karuza.

  • GIRL: This is Highria, the township of the paper makers.
  • OLD WOMAN: As the legend has been told through the ages, a man from a distant country will come and slay all the evil monsters. Do you know that man?
  • OLD WIFE: Hey, you! My husband would like to talk to you. Please come in.
  • OLD HUSBAND: We are in trouble! The monster in the tower west of here is in a violent rage. Please help us.
  • GUARD: The guardian monster in the tower of Broww does not like a certain type of stone.
  • GUARD: There is a lady shopkeeper in the mountains. She will escort you up to the Sky World.
  • WEAPONS MERCHANT: There is only one statue in the Tower of Broww.
  • HEALER: I am terrified of a green monster in the forest!

Cave near Karuza[edit | edit source]

The cave is about square in shape. The Hero starts in the lower-right corner, the miner is in the center. Caves are pitch black, so in order to get around, you're going to need a Light. And in order to use the Light, you're going to need Batteries to keep it powered. Batteries can last for a long time, but to be on the safe side, it is much better to carry an extra battery with you, just in case the first one dies. Getting caught in a dark cave with no light is a sure fire way to lose a lot of progress. Even with a light, the amount of pathway that you can see in front of you is fairly small, and it's easy to lose your way.

First, go north and pass through a red terrain area. At the top of the tunnel, move left, doen, then left again. Follow the winding tunnel. At the next fork go down, then proceed straight to the left until you see more red terrain. Instead of walking in the red tunnel, turn north and left. The Hero is now in a large dome. The old miner is in the center of it. When the Hero talks to him, she will receive a Gold Stone.

  • MINER: You are good! Even an expert swordsman would not try to get close to you. Here, take this golden stone with you. The Scissor Monster does not like golden stones!

Tower of Broww[edit | edit source]

Once you have the stone, you should be ready to take on the monster in Broww Tower. The tower is located a short trek to the west from Highria. To summarize: the paper town is terrified by the scissor monster, that does not like a golden stone. Thus, the paper-scissor-stone triangle is complete.

Tower structure[edit | edit source]

In the first room of the tower, you will see two passages (north and west) and a flight of stairs. The structure of the ground floor is of a long, circular corridor with four flight of stairs upstairs. If you take any of these stairs to the first floor, you will get into a loop of four rooms. In each of the loops, there is a staircase to the second floor. There, the four areas of the second floor are actually different!

Floor 3

Tower walkthrough[edit | edit source]

  • Goal 1: loot the treasures

Remember that the Towers collapse once you defeat the guardian. Therefore, let's grab the treasures first! Enter the tower, ignore the stairs and proceed west. In the southwest corner of the tower there is a flight of stairs, but it lead to a dead end. Continue north, and climb the stairs in the northwest corner to the first floor, then continue to the second floor.

On the second floor, walk straight north and into the wall: there is a secret room with a garnet. Now go back south to the room with the stairs, and continue west. The next room has four exits: a secret passage to the north conceals another garnet; if you proceed to the south you will eventually find a pearl; and if you contine west from the damage floor room, you will find a gold bag. The three gems can be sold in Somusa.

  • Goal 2: balm and statue

Back on the ground floor, continue to the northeast stairs, and make your way up to the first and second floors. From the staircase, the balm is just straight north. In order to reach the statue, go east, south and east again. Beware: if you stray from this path, you will get into a room full of invisible enemies!

  • Goal 3: elixir

Now that you moved the statue, you can get past the portcullises in the southwest wing of the tower. On your way there, you can loot a couple of items. Let us go back to the dungeon entrance and climb those stairs to the top floor. From there, go to the room to the south, then walk into the east wall: you will find 50 arrows.

Backtrack to the stairs room, then continue all the way to the west, following some winding corridors. You will get to a room with staircases down and four exits: that was the room with the portcullis. Continue west and south, and grab a pearl.

Backtrack to the staircase room, and take the north exit. Go north all the way, then follow the path east, and climb down the stairs. An elixir is in the room southeast from where you are now.

  • Goal 4: boss room

From the elixir room, go north and take the stairs to the ground floor (you could get the stairs in the other room as well, but the path would be longer). Go one room east and one south. There, walk into the east wall and climb the stairs.

Be careful now: if you take one door wrong, you will be forced to go back almost to the entrance. You are in a room with three exits: the right one is to the right! Kill the enemies in the damage floor room and continue south. Climb the stairs up. Now, on the second floor, go one room north, two rooms west, one north and one west.

You are now in the corridor leading to the boss.

BOSS: Scissor Monster[edit | edit source]

First of all, understand that the monster is invincible unless you hold a gold stone. Scissors are weak against stone/rock, indeed.

This battle is in two parts. First, take out all the small scissors drones; they come in swarms of three. Afterwards, the Scissor Monster starts moving, and it now you can stone it to death.

The reward for defeating the boss is the Ring, a very powerful item that allows you to regenerate lost health! The usefulness of this item cannot be understated, and it reduces the need for you to carry around so many healing potions. Upon defeating the boss, be sure to return to Highria and speak with the people there to obtain another important reward.

Return to Highria[edit | edit source]

  • OLD WOMAN: Thank you for defeating the Scissor Monster!
  • OLD WIFE: Hey, you! My husband wants to talk to you again.
  • OLD HUSBAND: Thank you. Now we can live in peace. As a token of my gratitude, I shall give you a Mysterious Seed which will magically repair fallen bridges.
  • GUARD: Do you know the story of David and Goliath?
  • WEAPONS MERCHANT: According to an ancient legend, there is an amazing sword hidden somewhere in the kingdom of Faria!

To the town of Riria[edit | edit source]

With the Mysterious Seed in hand, visit the bridge south of Highria. Use the seed to repair the bridge and you will be able to access the continent on the other side. Right on the other side of the bridge, you'll find the town of Riria.

Town of Riria[edit | edit source]

Riria is notable for two reasons. First, this is where you can obtain the medicine needed to cure the townspeople of Ehdo. The item you are looking to buy is the Capsule, which is sold at one of the Healers for 10 gold. Second, the equipment store sells a large number of improved defensive items. You should definitely shop here and buy the best armor and shield you can afford before you continue your journey.

  • WOMAN 1: This is Riria, the township of medicine.
  • WOMAN 2: Do you know anything about a goddess that lives in a lake?
  • OLD MAN 1: Somewhere there are ancient scrolls that show how to magically create a dragon!
  • OLD MAN 2: The entombed wizard has been resurrected! We need to find a foreigner worthy of fulfilling the ancient prophecy!
  • WISE MAN: Where is the legendary sword used to entomb the wizard?
  • WEAPONS MERCHANT: I heard that a magic rope could be found in the Sky World. It will help you to get up to mountains.
  • HEALER 1: This is the only place you can buy the universal antidote.
  • HEALER 2: We sell Wonder Capsules for food poisoning.

Back in Ehdo[edit | edit source]

Once you have acquired the medicine, it's time to return to Ehdo and cure the sickened villagers.

  • TOWNSFOLK: Hurry to the hospital!
  • SHOPKEEPER: I have something I would like you to do. Come back after you deliver the medicine.
  • HEALER: We are saved! Everyone is well again thanks to you.
