Tip
Bonecrusher is widely regarded as one of the best R-abilities. Its one weakness, though, is that you can only counter basic attacks. All it takes is someone with Smite of Rage, Doubleshot, the Parivir abilities, etc. to nullify it. In these situations, Counter is probably your best bet.

The Fighter is an offensive-minded class, with a high Attack rating and some great abilities. You must master 3 Soldier A-Abilities to become a Fighter. Their one downfall might be their equipment, for example, Blades aren't as powerful as other weapons and the use of Helms would have been nice. But all in all, the Fighter is a solid unit that can fit into almost any battle scenario.

Note: To unlock the Fighter class, you must first complete the "To Be a Fighter" quest.

Usage[edit]

Whenever you have enough health, use Backdraft instead of a basic attack. Avoid Blitz and Wild Swing, as they just aren't useful very often. A lot of Fighter's moves work well in combos with other units. For example, Backdraft does even more damage against a unit that has been hit with Oil, and Beat Down will always hit against a sleeping enemy. Work with your teammates to maximize a fighter's damage.

Aurablast and Air Render[edit]

Both of these moves are useful, though each is more powerful in different situations. Remember that Air Render does not deal air damage, so neither move has an elemental affinity. The main difference (other than area effect) is that Aurablast doesn't take into account which way the enemy is facing, while Air Render does. So if you're facing an enemy three spaces away, Aurablast would do more damage.

Blitz[edit]

The most useful use of Blitz by far is to use it to cure Confuse and Charm. Both of these status conditions are cured by taking damage, whether it's by an enemy or an ally. Blitz insures that you'll hit an ally, curing the condition, without dealing too much damage to them.

Rush[edit]

Rush is a useful move because it isn't any weaker than a normal attack and it has an additional effect. For enemies with Counter (or Blink Counter), use Rush and they'll be knocked out of range to attack you. Enemies standing at the edge of a cliff can be knocked off of it with Rush for heavy damage.
