The Hunter is a huge upgrade from the Archer class. Hunters gain a huge boost in the attack department just from the use of Greatbows over Bows, plus they can learn Ultima Shot and Sidewinder. Used correctly, a Hunter can be one of the most powerful classes in the game. However, it might be more prudent to use a Gria as a Hunter, as their stats are much better than Humes'. For a Hume to become a Hunter, it needs to master 3 Archery A-Abilities.

Usage[edit]

Hunters have two main types of A-Abilities: moves that target monsters and moves that target units. Of the monster-targeting moves, Sidewinder is by far the best. It can take out most monsters in two hits. Of the remaining moves, you'll find that Sonic Boom and Ultima Shot are the most useful. Avoid Oust, Advice, and Counter Force, as they aren't very useful.

Hunting[edit]

This is one of the weakest moves in the game, frequently doing less than half the damage that a normal attack would. If it KOs a target, you will gain two loot from it instead of one, though its difficult because it frequently does less than 30 damage. You can also use Hunting on a teammate who is confused or charmed to cure their status condition.

Sonic Boom[edit]

By itself, Sonic Boom has no elemental affinity. However, it takes on any elemental affinity that your weapon has. You can use this to heal your teammates if you coordinate your weapons with their equipment. Other than that, Sonic Boom is exactly like the Fighter/White Monk ability Aurablast.
