Tycoon Meteor (return)[edit]

You now start playing without Galuf, at least for the time being. You need to find Cid and Mid who were last seen in the airship hangar, so land the airship there as before to find them not there. You may notice though that there is a note in the table in the room to the right of the rest area. It says something about returning the Adamantite, so the next stop is Tycoon Meteor.

When you arrive you find the black chocobo waiting outside the entrance. Go inside to find Cid and Mid trying to put the Adamantite back where you found it, but it keeps reacting with the teleporter and they can't get past it. You realize the Adamantite should have enough energy to power the other transporters so you can get to Galuf's planet. Cid and Mid leave on the chocobo for the next meteor.

You now have to visit the three remaining meteors to power them up. Each one involves a minor boss, not as difficult as Archeoavis but with your party short a character they're not to be taken lightly either. It doesn't seem to matter which order you do them in so we'll go with the order you first encountered them in the game.

Walz Meteor (return)[edit]

Cid and Mid are waiting for you outside the entrance. Talk to them and they go inside for a moment, but they were followed by a monster and a battle begins.

Byurobolos x6
Boss level: 22, Recommended party level: 23
HP: 1500, Weaknesses: None, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: None
Gold: 0, ABP: 0, Drops: Tonic
Description/Strategy

Renamed to Purobolos in the GBA version.

Preparation: These monsters can easily wipe out your party if you have the wrong setup, but if you kept everything the same from the Archeoavis battle you shouldn't do too badly. But if you want to improve your odds a bit, change your fighter types to mage types; Red Mages work well here because of the variety of spells they can use. You won't do badly including a BlueMage, especially if you have the Aqua Rake spell, or including a Summoner. A bard with Romeo's Ballad can trivialize this fight.

Tactics: There are six of these and it is important to try to take them all out at once. The reason is that they will use an Arise move which will revive one or more of defeated ones and you'll need to fight them all over again. Also, if you take too long then they use Exploder which heavily damages one of your characters. You can avoid both of these possibilities by group casting Sleep twice near the beginning, then casting individual Sleep on any enemies that show signs of life. Remember to avoid any physical attacks since they will wake up the enemy, and start using whatever attack spells are handy and can be cast on a group, such as Aqua Rake, Ifrit, Fire2, etc. One possibility if you are willing to be patient is to just cast poison and then watch as the monsters just peacefully drift away. If you do not have those waiting for all of them to run out of MP works as well. Just be sure to keep up healing and reviving.

When you win the battle, Cid and Mid give you a congratulatory cheer and head for the next meteor.

Karnak Meteor (return)[edit]

Cid and Mid are waiting for you outside the entrance here as well. Talk to them and they go inside for a moment, but this time they come out in a hurry saying that there are monsters inside. Go in to investigate and find something on the teleporter; check it to start a battle.

Titan
Boss level: 1, Recommended party level: 23
HP: 2500, Weaknesses: None, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: None
Gold: 0, ABP: 5, Drops: Potion
Description/Strategy

Preparation: No special preparation should be needed here, Have reasonable healing ability and reasonable damage dealing ability and you should win. It will be helpful to have the Slow spell.

Tactics: Titan's worst attack is Earth Shaker which does major damage to your entire party. He is guaranteed to use this at least once when he dies. So remember to keep your party fairly high on health. Otherwise Titan uses physical attacks which should be easy to handle at this point in the game. This should leave you plenty of time for damage dealing. Casting Slow near the beginning will reduce the load on your healers and reduce the chance that Titan will use Earth Shaker more than once.

When you win you receive the summon spell Titan. Cid and Mid get on with powering up the meteor and head of to the next one.

Gorn Meteor[edit]

Renamed: Gohn Meteor (GBA)

This meteor is located near where the floating ruins landed, by Gorn Town. Cid and Mid are waiting for you and go inside when you talk to them. Follow after them. Cid and Mid are trapped in dark holes in the floor. Approach and the dark holes will attack.

KimaBrain
Boss level: 19, Recommended party level: 23
HP: 3300, Weaknesses: None, Nullifies: None, Absorbs: None
Gold: 0, ABP: 6, Drops: Phoenix Down
Description/Strategy

Renamed Manticore in the GBA version.

Preparation: This is the hardest of the meteor battles and may need a bit of extra preparation. Have a healer with Cure2 and a backup healer. Slow and Regen are useful here, otherwise set up for Jobs for dealing damage. If you have not picked up Aqua Rake yet, then set one character with the Learning ability to get it now.

Tactics: KimaBrain is basically a souped up version of Quadrharpy and uses some of the same attacks. It uses Aqua Rake and Frost which both take off large amounts on HP from your entire party and possibly inflict HP leak, so you will need to cast Cure2 to respond to these as quickly as possible. Cast Slow and Regen near the start to reduce the load on your healers. KimaBrain does not have a particular weakness so use everything except Ice-based attacks.

After rescuing Cid and Mid you head out.

Farewell to Earth[edit]

With all meteors powered up Cid and Mid tell you the location of the warp point and it appears on your World Map. You say your farewells and set out.

Before you go to the warp point, it's a good idea to take stock and make sure you've got everything that you need from this world. Are there any optional cities you haven't gone to yet? Any Blue spells you've been meaning to collect? Any shopping you've been putting off for lack of funds? Did you forget to save your game in a new slot? Once you can say "No" so all of these questions then take the airship to the odd shaped peninsula where the warp point is and land.

Step into the warp point to start a cutscene. The warp point is beginning to lose power so it's now or never. One by one you jump in and in a flash of light are teleported away.
