Unlike prior entries to the Final Fantasy series where you could just storm into a shop, buy the best magics in the store then blast your way through the next dungeon at your leisure, you now need to obtain not only the magic spell, but also the licence. However, Magicks in Final Fantasy XII are now more useful than ever, players eventually have to concede than an all-fighter party is not often the best option.

Note that the MP cost is the original number of MP consumed without augments.
