The overhead view of the Italian track.

The Italian track is located up in the top-right of the track selection screen, so if you are using MAME to play the game but have not held "9" and pressed "F2" to calibrate the steering, you will still be able to select it; its timer will also start out at 60 seconds.

When that counter appears on the screen and is counting down from "03" to "00", you should be in low gear with the gas pedal fully down; as you accelerate away from that starting line and pass a grandstand on the left side of the track and two billboards for Canon and Geo on the right side of the track, along with five trees on the left side of the track and two more billboards for Fiat Uno and Epson F-1 Racing on the right side of the track, you should shift into high gear at about 100 km/h, then turn to the right as you pass five more trees and two more billboards with an arrow pointing to the north-east on them on the left side of the track. You will now pass three more trees on the right side of the track, along with another grandstand and seventh billboard for Agip on that left side of the track, six more trees on both sides of the track, an eighth billboard for Champion on the right side of the track, ten more trees on both sides of the track, and a ninth billboard for Casio on the left side of the track before passing under a bridge for Goodyear - and you will now pass four more trees on both sides of the track before passing under another bridge that is for Magneti Marelli. You will then have to turn to the right as you pass three more trees on the left side of the track and two more billboards with an arrow pointing to the north-east on them on the left side of that track, then to turn to the right again as you pass two more trees on that left side of the track, a twelfth billboard for Ford on that left side of the track, two more billboards with the arrow pointing to the north-east on them on that left side of the track, and three more trees on the left side of the track; you will then have to turn to the left as you pass a third grandstand and three more trees upon the left side of the track before passing under a third bridge for Pirelli. You'll now pass ten more trees on both sides of the track, before passing under a fourth bridge for Renault 19 - and you will then have to turn to the left as you pass two more trees on both sides of the track, and two more billboards with the arrow pointing to the curved north-west on them upon both sides of the track, then turn to the right as you pass seven more trees on that left side of the track before turning to the left again as you pass a seventeenth billboard for Agip (the second one on the track) on the left side of the track and a fourth grandstand on the right side of the track before passing under a fifth bridge for Shell. You will now have to turn to the right as you pass eight more trees on both sides of the track and a fifth grandstand on that left side of the track, along with two more billboards for Mobil 1 and two more billboards with the arrow pointing to the north-east on them upon the left side of the track; you will now pass two more billboards for Renault ELF and Pop 84, a seventieth tree, and a twenty-fourth billboard for Fiat Uno (the second one on this track) on that left side of the track, along with a viewing staircase for Agip (which has already appeared on two billboards on this track) on the right side of the track. As with the Japanese track, once you have completed a full lap of the track, the text of "TIME EXTENDED LAP TIME XX.XX" will flash up upon the screen ("XX.XX" being your lap time) and you will gain 35 extra seconds of racing time to try and complete another lap - and once you have completed four laps of the track, another woman will wave her chequered flag in front of your car as it races off into the distance. The text "OFFICIAL RESULT" will then on the screen, and your position (1st-8th) will be displayed below it; your distance travelled (in metres), your number of laps, your fastest lap time, and your ranking will then be displayed below that. If your total time is less than 2:32:00 (which is less than the minimal total time of 2:47:81 for the Japan track), the game will go into "best-time" mode, so you should enter your initials (again, only up to three characters as opposed to five) on that Italian table with pride - and once you've done so, the game will go back into attract mode.
