The overhead map of the French track.

The French track is located in the top-right of the track selection screen, so if you are using MAME to play the game but have not held "9" and pressed "F2" to calibrate the steering, you will still be able to select it; its timer will again start at 60 seconds.

When that counter has appeared in the centre of the screen and is counting down from "03" to "00", you should be in low gear with the gas pedal fully down; as you accelerate off away from the starting line and pass under a bridge for Circuit de France, along with four blocks of flats on the right side of the track and two grandstands on the left side of the track, you should shift into high gear at around 100 km/h, as you pass a billboard for Pioneer on the right side of the track before passing under another bridge for Circuit de France (the second one upon this track). You will then have to have to turn to the right as you pass five gazebos for Pirelli, another billboard with an arrow pointing to the curved north-east on it, and five trees on that left side of the track - and you will then have to turn to the left, as you pass a third billboard with an arrow pointing to the curved north-west on it on the right side of the track, along with nine stacks of red and white tyres on both sides of the track. You will now have to turn to the right as you pass a fourth billboard which has an arrow pointing to the north-east on it, three more trees and an orange mobile crane which has three more stacks of red and white tyres in front of it on that left side of the track; you will then pass another orange mobile crane that has four barriers in front of it on the left side of the track, three more trees on both sides of the track, a fifth billboard for Citizen on the right side of the track, and a sixth billboard for Toyota on that left side of the track, a lookout tower (which, like the one from the English track, has an eleventh tree and a loudspeaker behind it) on the right side of the track, four more trees on both sides of the track, a seventh billboard for Tamiya/JVC/Mazda on the left side of the track, seven more trees on both sides of the track, a viewing staircase for Pirelli (this is its sixth appearance on this track) on the right side of the track (which has six more barriers in front of it and a twenty-third tree behind it), along with six more grandstands, an eighth billboard for EniChem, and a ninth billboard for Kodak Film on the left side of the track before passing under a third bridge for Dunlop. You will now have to turn to the right again as you pass a tenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it and four more grandstands on the left side of the track - and you will then pass an eleventh billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it, a twelfth billboard for Pirelli (because of the five gazebos and that viewing staircase, this is its seventh appearance on this track), a thirteenth billboard for Ralli Art, a fourteenth billboard for Toyota (like Circuit de France, this is its second appearance on this track), two more grandstands, a fifteenth billboard for Bobson/Nippondenso, and two more gazebos for: Pirelli (these are its eighth and ninth appearances on this track) on the left side of the track. You will then have to turn to the right once again, as you pass a sixteenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it, three more billboards for Subaru, four more trees, and two more grandstands on the left side of the track before passing under a fourth bridge for Nissan; you will now pass a twentieth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it on that right side of the track, six more stacks of red and white tyres on that left side of the track, a twenty-first billboard for Nippondenso/Mobil 1 (as with Circuit de France and Toyota, it is the former's second appearance on this track), a twenty-second billboard for Autopolis/Nippondenso (the latter's third appearance on this track), a twenty-third billboard for Kodak Film (like Circuit de France and Toyota, this is its second appearance upon this track), a twenty-fourth billboard for Casio, a twenty-fifth billboard for Agip (the symbol for which is identical to that of EniChem), and a twenty-sixth billboard for Epson on the right side of the track, and three more trees and a seventeenth grandstand upon the left side of the track. You will then have to turn to the right as you pass a twenty-seventh billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it on the left side of the track - and you will then have to turn to the left, as you pass a twenty-eighth billboard for Mitsubishi Motors and a twenty-ninth billboard for Pioneer (like Circuit de France, Toyota and Kodak Film, this is its second appearance upon this track) on the left side of the track, a thirtieth billboard for Toyota (this is its third appearance upon this track), and a thirty-first billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it on the right side of the track, and six more trees on the left side of the track. You will then have to turn to the right, as you pass a thirty-second billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it, three more trees, five more gazebos for Pirelli (these is its tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth appearances on this track) and two more grandstands on the left side of the track, and three more blocks of flats on the right side of the track; as with the English track, once you have completed a full lap of the track, the text of "TIME EXTENDED LAP TIME XX.XX" ("XX.XX" being your lap time) will flash up on the screen, and you will gain 35 additional seconds of time to try and complete another lap. Also as with the English track, once you have completed four laps of the track, a second woman will wave a chequered flag in front of your car as it races off into the distance - and the text "OFFICIAL RESULT" will then appear on the screen with your position (1st-8th) below it. The distance you travelled (in metres), number of laps, fastest lap time and ranking will then be displayed below that; if your total time is less than 2:31:92, which is more than the minimal total time of 2:29:91 for that English track, the game will go into "best-time" mode, so you should enter your initials (again, only up to three characters like the four tables from the second game, as opposed to five like the single table from the first game) on the French table with pride. Once you have done so, the game will go back into attract mode.
