After being forced to a halt by some crow pirates, Ike goes on land to find help. He is spotted by some of Goldoa's dragons and is asked to leave. They prepare to fight but Ike is rescued by the dragon prince, Kurthnaga, who orders his men to push the ship free of the reef. they are successful and Ike and his men continue on their journey to Begnion. They eventually run into an envoy of Begnion, known as Tanith. After arriving, she has to quickly depart after discovering that the ship that Begnion's apostle, Sanaki, is on is being attacked by pirates. The Greil mercenaries rush in to help the outnumbered Begnion soldiers. They find out that they face not only pirates but also Ravens.

Base preparations[edit]

Use BEXP to level up any under-leveled units that you might have, like Jill or Zihark. By now, Oscar, Boyd, Soren and Rhys should be promoted. If not, use a master seal as they are very useful units throughout the game. Once again make sure that everyone has a ranged weapon and don't fear forging a weapon if some of your characters are weak or slow.

Once you've viewed the info and support conversations, save then leave the base.

The battle[edit]

In this level you'll want to include all your usual units and Mordecai, even if you don't normally use him. Bring along both thieves as well if you want to use them both. Reposition one of your thieves so that they are on the upper-most square and position Mordecai and another character on the left-most squares. Making sure Mordecai is the closest to Ike, reposition the others as much as you like. After this, save the game and start the mission.

To begin with, you'd want to move the thief on the upper-most square to open the nearby chest. Make sure that the thief you are using is below the chest and not to the right as otherwise the thief is in danger as there are many ranged users on that side of the ship who could attack the thief if he were to open the lock in that position.

Next, shove Ike right one square with one of your characters (not Mordecai, though). After this, move the character below Ike as far up as possible. Then move Mordecai to that square and smite Ike down the plank. Now, move Ike below Astrid and talk to her, she'll join the Greil mercenaries. Now have Astrid talk to Gatrie so that he joins the Greil mercenaries once more. Once he's joined, attack the nearby enemy unit with Astrid and have her wait in that space. Use Gatrie to finish the enemy units off. With the remainder of your units, charge onto the Begnion ship so that they are ready to start fighting next turn.

Make Oscar trade his javelin with Gatrie and then make Gatrie fight his way to the left plank, where he'll gain the most levels. Use any unwanted units (e.g, Mordecai, Titania etc.) to rescue an 'other' unit, if you use Titania or another beorc to rescue an 'other' unit move them onto the defense square so that the ravens won't fly onto it. Any strong, defensive units should be placed on the other two planks.

During this confusion, move your thieves around opening chests, keeping them out of harms way. Soon, the crows will start trying to open the chests, so make sure you open as many as possible before that time. If they do open a chest, kill them and the item they received will be passed onto the unit that killed them.

At turn 8 the enemy boss becomes aggressive and will move to fight any units he can. His longbow grants him a long range and weaker units can easily be targeted - and killed. Try to take the boss out before that time so you don't need to worry about him anymore. Once all the chests have been opened, the crows will flee. If there are no enemies on the map, you complete the mission early and get more bonus experience so try to kill any remaining enemies quickly.
