After arriving in begnion, the apostle shows doubt that Elincia's claim to the Crimean throne is real, even after Ike defended her claim. This was all a ruse, however, as Sephiran had already confirmed Princess Elincia's claim to the throne. Ike, enraged by her actions, stands up for Elincia and goes as far to insult the way of begnion. The senators are quick to action, but the Apostle halts her guards from arresting Ike, saving his life. Ike, realising the foolishness of his actions, agrees to run an errand for the Apostle, which takes him to a foggy river where he must battle some bandits.

Base preparations[edit]

The base preparation should be spent wisely for the battle ahead. Give each character a new ranged weapon and replace any worn-out melee weapons that your characters have. In the battle ahead, the enemies are quite fond of venom weapons which poison your team. So hand out any antitoxins and restore staves to those who want them.

In a chest last level, you received an occult scroll, save it or you can give it to someone useful like a paladin, for Sol. Or if you're using Nephenee, Luna makes her killer. Give the bonus experience to any teammate to help them catch up to the rest of the group. After this, watch any support or info conversations you wish, save, then start the battle.

The battle[edit]

You should still get Makalov for his shiny red gem but if you really don't want him, you don't have to bring Marcia.

For this level you will need to separate your group into two groups:

The first group should consist of Boyd, Oscar, Jill, and Marcia. Jill is vital for her mobility so you can get Vantage and the Secret Book in the houses before they destroy it. You can even send more people if you want. If you have not used Marcia, keep her out of harms way, because she is vital to recruiting Makalov. This group shall go north-west towards the houses in the north. Their job is to kill all the enemies to the north-west, visit the houses before the bandit gets to them, then meet up with the remainder of the group on the central island.

Recruiting Makalov
Talking to Makalov with Marcia lets him join your group, he joins under-levelled and will require a lot of levelling up to catch up to your group, Makalov can be a very useful paladin, but it is not recommended because they're other units ahead that you can get. Still, you can use him.

The second group should consist of everyone else. They should work their way straight north and take care of all the enemies on the central island and on the bridges. Once they have done so, push forward, slowly and carefully. Use Jill's advantage by launching hit-and-run attacks on the boss's right-hand men. By this time, the first group should have merged with this one.

Before taking out the boss, use your promoted units to kill the feral ones nearby, since they're laguz, they can't counter attack at range so Soren and other mages (With Fire tombs) or any Laguz (weapon are your best units to kill them with. Once they are out of the way, use ranged attacks to kill the boss. the boss will not move from his position, so don't worry about him attacking weaker units. Just be careful, however, that you don't attack him at close-range because he has a good chance of landing a critical hit and killing one of your characters.
