These stage returns to the traditional style of gameplay. Remember to destroy as much of the formation before the arrival of enemies is complete so that you have fewer targets to hit, and fewer enemies shooting at you.
Common stage notes
In the following stages, the crystals that sit below the formation are replaced by brown asteroids. These asteroids take four hits to destroy, and the first one that you remove will reveal a blue warp capsule that drops to the bottom of the screen for you to catch.
Starting on this stage, one or more zakos may divide and transform into the Taco enemy (shown left). They will extend horizontally from the zako, and then travel straight down in a row.
This is the first stage where every wave of the formation will contain two enemies that will dive bomb you during their appearance. Be prepare to react to them when you see them leave their group and drop to the bottom of the screen.
In Dimension 2, the third bonus stage features the Kurage enemy. The enemies in this bonus stage are much more choreographed to the music. There are quite a few moments when single enemies dance individually across the screen. Be prepared to react at a moment's notice.
A single Boss Galaga will appear from the left, and then another Boss Galaga will join him on the right. Then they'll slowly make their way up the screen just off-center.
Ten Karuge, five on the left and five on the right, will descend diagonally from the top, loop around, descend to the bottom, and do another half loop before wave back and forth to the top along the center. Shoot at the first group from the extreme edge, and come closer to the second for the second group.
The third wave is extremely similar to the second, except that the Karuge ultimately make their way off the screen through the sides.
A single Boss Galaga will start in the upper right, and descend in a curved staircase fashion to the middle of the left side.
Nine Karuge will very quickly float across the screen from right to left, performing a giant loop in the middle.
Wave six is the mirror image of wave four, except that before the Boss Galaga leaves the right side of the screen, a Karuge will appear from the left, bounce around the middle of the screen, and escape back to the left.
Two Boss Galaga will appear on either side of the screen, and dance up and down. They will loop around together, just left of center, before splitting back up, and finishing their dance before exiting on their own side of the screen.
This is the first chance that players have of encountering Pans before they reach their location in a formation. They aren't easily destroyed when they first appear, so expect a lot of them to make it to their destination. They aren't a big offensive threat, but they do a great job shielding enemies above them from your attacks. Fire rapidly to remove them as quickly as possible.
In Dimension 2, the third bonus stage features the Daruma enemy. The enemies in this bonus stage are much more choreographed to the music. Many of the enemies will appear to be joining in the middle, only to stop just shy of it.
Two pairs of Boss Galagas will fly in from the top. They will dance around a bit but tend to converge on the center for quite a while, making easy targets.
Eight Daruma will appear, four from the lower left and four from the lower right. They will fly up and begin to approach the center, before double back to the bottom in a outward curve. They quickly join in the middle before doing another outward curve, and then conjoin in the center, before flying out to the sides near the top.
The third wave is extremely similar to the second, except that the Daruma converge near the top, make their way down towards the bottom, and exit out the sides.
Eight more Daruma, four from the left and four from the right, fly up to the top, meet in the middle, and come down. They loop out and back up to the top, and then they pair up and they all fly over to the right side of the screen. They bounce along the right edge before exiting through the middle of the right side.
The fifth wave is extremely similar to the third, except that they Darumas do not pair up. Instead, they mirror image each other as they go their separate ways and exit out of both sides of the screen.
Two more pairs of Boss Galagas appear from the top. They frequently fly to locations on near the top and spin around each other, and they converge in the center of the screen quite often, making themselves easy targets if you stay in the middle.
