Stage 4 takes place at sea. It's arranged very much like the previous stage, with one very long uninterrupted section, broken up by some challenging island hopping. If you thought equipment was scarce in the last stage, there's absolutely nothing to purchase on this one. The single building that you find is the entrance to the stage dungeon. There's only one shortcut (which lets you bypass the first jumping section), and the rest of the underground entrances are hidden quite well. You won't be able to purchase a candle, so you'll have to search hard to find them all. In fairness, there are actually three passes hidden underground in addition to the one placed in the dungeon, so you don't actually have to find every staircase.
