Controls

At Bat

• / : Don't press the direction pad to swing your bat at an average height. Press up or down to choose between swinging high or swinging low.
• : Press the A button to swing the bat. Hold the button to do a full swing, or quickly tap the button to bunt.
• +: Hold the A button and press a direction to send a runner back to the base they just came from.
• +: Hold the B button and press a direction to make a player waiting on a base attempt to steal the next base.

Pitching

• : Use the direction pad to change the direction that the ball flies after you've thrown it.
• : Press the A button to pitch the ball.
• : Press the B button to change the camera to look at the entire baseball field.

Fielding

• : Use the direction pad to guide the fielder who is closest to the ball around the field.
• +: When the ball is in hand, hold a direction corresponding to one of the bases and press the A button to throw to that base.
• +: Before the ball is caught, press the B button along with a direction to make the fielder dive for a falling ball. When the ball is in hand, hold a direction corresponding to one of the bases and press the B button to make the fielder run to that base.

Modes of Play

From the title screen, you are given five different modes to choose from.

• Open Mode: In this mode, you play one regular game, either against another player, or against a computer controlled team.
• Pennant Mode: In this mode, you play through an entire season and attempt to win the championship. When you start a new game, you choose how long the season runs for. You can continue where you left off from by entering a password.
• Exciting Mode: In Exciting Mode, you may enter passwords for two different teams that have been developed in Pennant Mode to pit them against one another. You can also enter secret passwords that allow you to view each team's individual endings.
• All Star Mode: You can construct a team out of the best players that the game has to offer in this mode. You can also choose to play as the secret Old Star team.
• Watch Mode: In this last mode, you are a passive observer as you watch two computer controlled teams play a game against each other.

After selecting a mode, you must choose your team, choose which of the three stadiums to play in, and whether the game is played during the day or at night.
