This is a page of enemies appearing in Genpei Touma Den. Notice that data will be based on PC-Engine version.
General notes:
- All enemy generators will drop two life points, but only if destroyed before releasing a certain amount of monsters.
- Enemies with "Hard" or "Invincible" attribute mean that attacking them without scrolls or Kusanagi may cause a loss in sword points.
- "Boss" enemies will have lifebar shown.

- They do not drop items directly. Instead, they tend to hide something in their locations.
- Most of the time, they will hide an item of 1000 points, being one of: Galaxian Flagship (

), Libble Rabble Hoblin (
), or generic red car (
). Among them, the generic red car is the only item that debuts in this game.
- There is exactly one Stone Lion guarding a Magatama, in Setsu the hidden stage.

- Besides of certain stages, they mainly appear if Kagekiyo takes too long in any Big Mode or Over Mode stage.
- In Over Mode stages, Kagekiyo must jump in order to attack them.
- They will only respawn more until Kagekiyo leaves the stage or dies.

Saito Musashibo Benkei (西塔武蔵坊弁慶)

- There are two variations: The early one throws spiked balls. After Kyoto, he will always wield a rod with a spiked ball.
- His weakness point in arcade and PS version is his head. In the PC-Engine version however, his leg shall be your attack target.

- Life: 40 (dagger) or 60 (sword)

- There are two variations: One will throw daggers at you, the other will attack you with a long sword, and may use rolling slash if you are too far away.

- A glitch in the PlayStation version allows player to kill him. There is even a counter for that.

Minamoto no Yoritomo (源頼朝)

- Note: Kagekiyo must have all three sacred items in order to defeat his arch-enemy for good.
- Trivia:
- If you waste too much time in a small mode stage, or visit certain areas, he will appear in the background and try to smash you with fan. In this case he is invincible.
