The game can be controlled in one of two ways: with either the stylus or the d-pad and the face buttons.

Movement

Movement is by default done using . In the options menu, the handedness can be changed to left, so that instead the face buttons buttons are used to move.

Alternately, the stylus can be set to control movement and the buttons can be used for shooting, with the same handedness settings applying.

Shooting

Shooting is by default done either by moving the stylus on the touch screen or pressing the face buttons. The face buttons are limited to an eight-way shot, giving the stylus more control, but new players may find the stylus harder to use. Similar to movement, how shooting is controlled can be changed in the menu.

Bombs

Bombs, which destroy all on-screen enemies instantly, can be laid by pressing or .
