Controls[edit]
Player[edit]
Throughout the game, you take control of Godzilla himself, or his monster ally Mothra. Each play differently from one another, and it's good to know their strengths and weaknesses before embarking on your mission with either of them.
Godzilla[edit]
Godzilla is raw fury that comes in the form of a giant lizard. Capable of tremendous destruction, Godzilla has no less than four different kinds of attacks. His weakest attack is actually his punch. Due to the shortness of Godzilla's arms, you have to be very close to your target to strike it with a punch. His next best attack is his kick, using his massive legs to attack anything low to the ground. Even stronger than his kicks is his tail swipe, where he spins around to level anything in his tail's path. But his ultimate attack is a blast of fire that radiates from his mouth. Using this attack drains Godzilla's power meter completely. His meter does not have to be full in order to use it, but the longer the meter, the more powerful the attack will be. Since Godzilla can't fly, you must make sure that the path ahead of Godzilla is clear in order to advance through a stage with him. Godzilla is capable of moving across two hex zones on the map per turn.
Mothra[edit]
While not quite as powerful as Godzilla, Mothra is no pushover. What she lacks in strength, she makes up for in maneuverability. Mothra has the ability to fly through any stage, and although she can't necessarily pass through anything, her ability to fly above or below most features means she can't get past many obstacles without ever having to destroy them in combat. Plus the fact that she can travel across four hex zones each turn means that she can travel across each world much faster than Godzilla. Ultimately, however, it's her lack of power that may cause you to lead with Godzilla; Mothra has a much more difficult time in one-on-one battle against other monsters compared to Godzilla. She only has two attacks; eye beams which she can fire from a distance, but do incredibly little damage, and her poison powder attack (which resembles a set of wings dropping to the ground.) The powder attack is much more effective, especially against enemies which lie beneath her. However, whenever Mothra is hit, she falls to the ground, reducing the usefulness of this attack until she can get back up into the air.
