In the world of Golden Sun, Weyard, there are many enemy monsters that roam the land. They range from ordinary forest animals to ghosts and other undead creatures. Here, they will be grouped on separate pages according to these types. Bosses are found on a separate page as well.
There are also "Families" of monsters that can be found in the game. These are usually recolored versions of the earlier monsters. They share common traits, but often have more techniques and are significantly stronger.

These are ordinary bats, found all over the world, but especially in caves and dungeons. As they get stronger, they gain more techniques, like Fly Attack, which can deal a fair amount of damage.
These are fierce bears that live mostly in forested areas and the plains of Angara. They have rather powerful claw attacks, and tend to form the central attacker in monster parties.
Bees are a common enemy in the overworld as well as forest areas, like Kolima and Mogall. They have the ability "Look for Allies", which can enable them to summon more of their own kind. Wipe them out quickly, or you could soon find yourself overrun.
Moles are another common enemy that live in the overworld. They aren't seen until later on, near Xian. Because they don't appear until so late, they're quite a bit stronger than most of the other species.
These are small, ordinary rats that roam the forests of the world. The latter two have donned tiny sets of armor. They are very weak in general.
These are more advanced rats which have evolved to walk on two legs. They wield spears and carry shields. They aren't that much stronger than the others, but can deal a bit more damage with the weapons.

Ghosts are undead monsters that appear in many dungeons and caves. They possess dark powers and can pose a rather difficult threat compared to most of the other smaller monsters that are found with it.
Animated skeletons of men long since dead. They fight on in pursuit of unknowable goals. The Skeletons are larger monsters found very often in dungeons and caves. Like zombies, they tend to lead parties with smaller monsters.
Spirits are ghostly creatures. The Amaze is commonly found right near the beginning of the game, so this species is often seen all over. Again, they're relatively weak, but sport a few magic attacks.
Flaming skulls that float on their own. They appear commonly through the first half of the game, in dungeons, forests, caves and plains. Normally they come in small groups together or with bigger monsters like Zombies.
Fallen humans who were revived through some dark force. Zombies are found early on near Vale, Vault, and Lunpa. They also have the ability "Look for Allies", so you'll need to take these out first to prevent them from multiplying. They tend to be the leaders of monster parties.

Golems are enormous monsters created from clay and stone. They look roughly humanoid, but their abilities are very different. As might be expected from a monster made from the earth, most of their attacks are also of this element. Golems appear rather late in the game, in Altmiller Cave and beyond.
These gnomes are tiny little creatures that are seemingly intelligent. They live in forests and caves. Gnomes know several different magic attacks, so be careful of that. Normally, they appear in groups together or with a bigger monster, but sometimes they'll attack solo.
The most human of monsters, the Orcs are ugly, pig-faced creatures. Mostly, they dwell in forest areas, but sometimes in caves. Orcs as a whole are a fair bit stronger than most species, so beware.
Slimes are gelatinous creatures that exist across the overworld. Like Bees, they have an ability (called "Divide") which will bring a second slime into battle. They don't really possess many magical attacks.
Trolls are amongst the larger creatures in the game. They carry enormous axes and don't hold back when they use them. As the name of the center one implies, they most appear in dark areas like caves.
