Bubble Trouble: Golly! Ghost! 2 (バブルトラブル: ゴーリー! ゴースト! 2, Eng: Baburu Toraburu: Gōrī! Gōsuto! 2), is an electro-mechanical/videogame hybrid, that was released by Namco in 1992, only in Japan; as the name suggests, it is the sequel to Golly! Ghost!, which was released two years earlier. As with its predecessor it runs on Namco's System 2 hardware - and it is also the fifth game from the company to allow scores not ending in "0", after Hopping Mappy, Bakutotsu Kijūtei, Metal Hawk, and its predecessor. Like all four of those older games, it used a Yamaha YM-2151 FM sound chip for its songs; but only like the third and fourth ones, it used a C140 custom sound chip for its sound effects and speech samples (as opposed to a PSG and DAC). Even though it's emulated in MAME, only the video portion of it is emulated, which means that you again won't see the players' (codenamed "ZIP" and "ZAP") scores, the timer, or that diorama (which is different from that of its predecessor) on your computer's monitor if you decide to play it - and without them, the game is again virtually unplayable.
The gameplay is very much like that of the original, but this time it is themed around sunken treasure; the players, who are again codenamed "ZIP" and "ZAP", must now use their guns to shoot fish, crabs and other sea creatures at the bottom of the ocean (rather than ghosts in a haunted house). A certain amount of points must be scored before the timer runs out in order to continue to the next scene, and bonus creatures (which are worth 2 to 5 points when killed) will also appear to try and help you reach that value - but if you do not manage to score the required amount of points before the timer runs out, the sea creatures will take over the bottom of the ocean and the game will again immediately be over.
