Entering the city[edit]

The guards at the gate will stop you when you try to enter. There are several ways to get in:

  • If you have spoken with Lester, you can pretend to be a herb gatherer. You need 10 herbs of a kind to pull this off.
  • You can buy or simply take farmer's clothes from Lobart and pose as a farmer.
  • You can pay 100 gold coins.
  • You can climb over the wall to the right of the gate (impossible with the addon, no XP either).
  • You can choose to take Canthar's pass and owe him a favor.
  • You can go past the city and towards the lighthouse and then go down the cliffs and walls towards the sea or the city barracks. Talk to Lares for 500 XP.

If you want to help Greg the pirate who is hiding near the trees by giving him the farmer's clothes (100 XP), make sure you talk to the city guards first. Once the city guards have given you access they won't revoke it, even if you no longer have the farmer's clothes. Greg will at some point turn up at the Dead Harpie tavern (What triggers this? It can happen in the first chapter.) for a sidequest to dig up loot he buried in various places. It's unknown if not helping Greg prevents you from doing this sidequest.

Quests[edit]

Canthar's Favor[edit]

Whether you accepted Canthar's offer or not, he will now proceed to blackmail you as soon as you come within vocal range. He will demand that you get Sarah the weapon merchant arrested. If you met him with your farmer clothes on before, he'll have assumed you are a farmer and you can avoid doing any dirty deeds or paying the 500 gold.

If you were't in farmer's clothes, start trading with Sarah and "sell" her the incriminating paper. After that, go to lord Andre and pocket the bounty. Canthar will give you a weapon and this is the end.

Of course you can also get Canthar arrested just by talking to Andre. Sarah will also give you a weapon, however in chapter 2 Canthar returns from jail and makes all merchants hostile towards you. You can reverse that by giving him 500 gold. Or you can kill Canthar before chapter 2 by attacking him in his jail cell and luring him away from eyewitnesses (strangely nobody will mind him leaving the prison).

Information for Garvell[edit]

Garvell is the paranoid boat builder. You can obtain the first two bits of information he needs by giving beer to Ragnar the militiaman by the gallows. You get the final piece of information from Lord Hagen once you agree to go to the Valley of mines.

The Experiment[edit]

Ignaz the alchemist has a hut behind Matteo's shop. Accept to perform the experiment and he will give you a scroll.

If you do a little research, you find out that the ideal target is Valentino from the upper quarter. He spend most of the night in the tavern near the temple and leaves at 4 in the morning. You can beat him up behind Bosper's shop. Once you do that, use the spell and return to Ignaz.

You should also talk to Regis. He will give you a ring that you can pass on to Coragon the innkeeper.

Lehmar's Ledger[edit]

This is a sidequest. There are two ways to obtain Lehmar's Ledger: if you have the pickpocketing skill and sufficient dexterity, you can just steal it. If you are good at fighting, borrow 200 gold from Lehmar and wait a few days until he gets pissed off. Knock him and Meldor unconscious and take the ledger from his body.

Take the ledger to Thorben, Coragon and Hanna. (in that order) After giving the ledger to Thorben, buy it back. (just ask for lockpicks) After giving it to Coragon he'll give you a special beer that provides a (permanent?) stat boost. Buy it back and take it to Hanna, who will give you a bag. Use the item in your inventory and you'll find a key. You can't buy the book back from Hanna, that's why you have to take it to her last.

The key inside the bag is the key to the chest on the right in the well-hidden cave on an island you can swim to. The cave is guarded by lizards. Inside the cave before the room full of loot, there is a floor spike trap. It's unfair, so savescum. The timing of the trap is hard to predict, you can't jump and it will get you. There are 4 chests in the room. Two require lockpicking, one is unlocked and the final one requires Hanna's key. One of the things you'll find here (besides a fair amount of gold and expensive items) is a small statue of Innos - Edda will be very grateful if you give it to her.
