There are of course two main types of enemies in the game, player controlled and NPC. Player controlled enemies are simply other players using characters and equipment. As such they have the ability to maneuver and strategize more than NPCs, yet they lack the precision of the guns that the computer has over the game (for example with sniper rifles).

Non-player characters, also known as bots for their similarity in the game to robots or mechanized units, are experienced solely in Challenge and Mission License area. They vary in health, size, weaponry and style which depend on of course the creators but also the mission played in which units are affected by the theme. For example in the Great Tree mission, many soldier NPCs are covered with camoflauge that look mossy and bark-like. NPCs are also categorized by normal units and bosses.

Bosses[edit]

Only six bosses currently exist, one for each mission. At the end of a mission a boss is encountered which is, as expected, much greater in firepower, health and size. Players are also notified of a boss when a red gauge representing the boss's life appears at the top of the screen next to its name.

The six bosses are:

  • RK_1
  • Mission 2 boss
  • RobotBoss
  • Maus
  • GiantEZ Tree
  • Red Scorpion

Units[edit]

Normal units vary from mechanized soldiers and vehicles to turrets. Note that these are unofficial names to categorize the enemies by physical attributes and behavior.

Soldiers[edit]

Soldiers carry weapons that when viewed from afar allow players to know the capabilities and thus strategy to defeat it. For example a rocket launcher wielding soldier fires rockets when triggered. The following is a list of the soldiers that exist in the game:

  • Terminator - Appears in Challenge License Area Mission 1; does not attack, holds a scout and is completely unique in appearance compared to other soldiers.
  • GR-N - Appears in Mission 1, this soldier is the traditional brown-plated bot with an energy projectile equivalent of a grenade launcher.
  • KGR-N - Appears in Mission 1, looks like the GR-N but carries a slightly different weapon that acts like the SWR-2 laser rifle (fires quickly and rounds dissipate after a certain distance), has the projectile art like the GR-N's and has a lower (faster) firing rate.
  • Skeleton Warrior - Appears in Mission 1, in comparison to the GR-N this soldier is about twice as big, black and burly looking. The weapon it carries is like a grenade launcher (like the GR-N) although the projectiles are only slightly affected by gravity so they take on a much more linear trajectory.

Suiciders[edit]

Suiciders are melee units that only serve to run into players. Only two types exist, Lempat Bls and Lempat BRs, which look like mechanized bulls.

Turrets[edit]

Turrets are stationary enemies that are limited in what they can target. These enemies always fire in the same direction, with little variance to horizontal and vertical distances. Some turrets have the ability to hide and unhide themselves in regard to the distance of the players; for example the turret that is white and pops up and down in Mission 4 section 2 will only show itself if the character is within a certain distance from it horizontally. Also note that there are indestructable turrets, such as the vertical and horizontal spiked crushers in Mission 6, which take damage but have an unlimited amount of health.

Vehicles[edit]

Vehicles are quite unique from one another in Gunster. Traditional tank and airplane like vehicles exist along side more scifi and wacky styles like the flying bee that is created by GiantEZ Tree.
