Hamsterz 2 is a game for the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance, and a follow-up from Hamsterz. There have been some changes from the previous version. In the game, you look after hamsters and buy them items and food from the pet store, and just like a real hamster they can get ill or have pups providing there is both a male and a female.

You can keep up to twelve hamsters, nine of which can be kept in the care centre, and you will have three cages altogether. As the game progresses, the store will have more items in stock, and you will also be able to buy bigger cages. The cages you can purchase start off as cube, then long, and then two different two storey cages.

From the store you can also purchase 'treasures', which you use as an alternative to toys. These include sunflower seeds, Christmas trees and scales. Although little of them involve interacting with your hamster, you can still watch them as they play with their treasures.

But, as with every virtual pet related came, you can stroke your hamsters. If they are in a bad mood though, they are likely to bite you. You can also pick up your hamster if it will let you.
