Upon selecting a new game file (or continuing via a New Game +), Harry is presented with a letter from Albus Dumbledore accepting him into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The scene then shifts to Diagon Alley, with Hagrid welcoming Harry and directing him to the store in front of them, Ollivanders Wand Shop. Hagrid heads inside to arrange getting Harry a wand, telling him he is free to explore around. At the moment, however, it would be best to just follow him in.
Hagrid introduces Harry to Ollivander and tells him to meet him at Gringotts afterwards before leaving. You'll acquire Harry's Wand and the spells Flipendo Uno and Vermillious Uno. There is nothing else to be found here, so you can leave.
Card Collecting[edit]
Upon exiting the shop, a boy will approach you and introduce you to Famous Witches and Wizards Cards. He'll then offer you a selection of starter decks. There are four options, and your choice will affect which cards and card combinations can be found for the rest of the game (you'll need to play through the game an additional 3 times, selecting a different starter deck each time, in order to collect them all).

- The remainder of the walkthrough will reference the initials of the chosen starter deck (JP, GP, GS, MM) in accordance with which cards you will find in their specific locations.
You'll receive a Folio Magi and Folio Triplicus, along with the cards and combinations of your chosen deck.
Before exploring the rest of Diagon Alley, you'll want to take care of your business at Gringotts first.
The Gringotts Vaults[edit]
Head over to Gringotts, located on the far right of the Alley. Read the note posted on the front door, and enter. Walking up to the end of the Lobby, Harry finds Hagrid and Griphook ready to enter the vaults. Shortly after entering, however, Harry trips and looses sight of his companions (figures). He'll have to make his way to his vault alone.
You'll need to make your way through the two labyrinth-like sections of the Vault before arriving at your destination. The only normal enemies here are rats and bats, so this is a good time to do your initial leveling up, as it'll help in the long run. You can also exit the vaults and head to the Healer when your stamina and magic get low.
You can find 4 Cards hidden in holes around the vaults (2 in the lower section, and 2 in the upper section). Before reaching the vault, you'll encounter your first boss (there are actually two of these for each path to the destination vault - the other will disappear after defeating the first one, though).

Reuniting with Hagrid at Harry's vault, You'll receive 850 Sickles and a School Supplies List. Hagrid will then leave to take care of some other business, asking you to meet up with him again in front of Gringotts after you've purchased all of your school supplies. Before leaving yourself, there is a Card Combination in the upper right pile of coins.

Exploring Diagon Alley[edit]
Returning outside into Diagon Alley, you must now purchase everything on your list from the surrounding shops (you can check the list in your inventory to see what you need). Be sure to explore everywhere, as there are many hidden items around.
There is a Card hidden in the well between the Owl and Broom shops, another Card hidden between some crates in the alley between Ollivanders and Gringotts, 5 Sickles hidden in one of the cauldrons to the right of the Potage's Cauldrons, and a Wiggenweld Potion hidden in the crate between Madam Malkin's and Flourish and Blotts.

As you approach the shop, a hooded figure draws your attention. They offer to trade you a rare Circe Card for a Bezoar Stone, but since you don't have one, the conversation is brought to an abrupt end.

Purchase one Cauldron for your list (it doens't matter which). There is also a Card hidden on the shelves at the top of the shop.

The woman in here will give you a potion that restores your stamina and magic for free. Something handy to have if you want to train a bit more.

Once you've done everything you can here, return to Hagrid and give him back the supply list. He'll surprise you with a late birthday gift, Hedwig the Owl. Now it's onto the Hogwarts Express...
