Tools[edit]

Tools can be assigned to the B button and can be stored in the Toolbox in the house.

The five basic tools in your inventory from the beginning are the Hammer, the Axe, the Sickle, the Hoe, and the Watering Can:

  • The Hammer is used to break rocks and flatten earth.
  • The Axe is used for chopping stumps.
  • The Sickle is used for cutting weeds and grass.
  • The Hoe is used for tilling the ground and digging in the mine in winter.
  • The Watering Can is used for watering plants.

After a certain amount of usage, these tools will automatically upgrade to silver, and then to gold. These upgraded tools allow the player to do more work faster using less energy.

All other tools can be purchased at Rick's Tool Shop, the Flower Shop, or Green Ranch, with the exception of the Fishing Pole, which is acquired by talking to the Fisherman, and the Brush, which comes free with the purchase of a Cow or Sheep.

Belongings[edit]

There are 45 different Belongings, which can be assigned to A and carried in front of the player to eat, sell, or give to NPCs. Most of these are various foods and produce like berries, vegetables, milk, and wool, but also includes weeds, lumber, boulders, fodder, and various flowers and ore. They can be placed in the backpack with C-Up, or eaten with C-Down if food. Most characters will react favorably to being given any of these items as a give, except for the weeds and poison mushroom.
