With your new ship, new areas are open to explore.

New locations[edit]

Village of Paranor[edit]

Map of Paranor (there is a typo in the screenshot).
See also the corresponding text transcript.

Paranor is located on an island south-west from Helwan. The weapons shop offers good deals, but the food shop is expensive.

A portion of the village is blocked by electric force fields. Your next quest is to find a way to get past them.

Village of Luncatia[edit]

Map of Luncatia
See also the corresponding text transcript.

It was dangerous to reach Luncatia from Capaal, because the snow storm could freeze you to death. Instead, the village can be easily reached by ship from the north.

In the village, you can continue the fur sub-quest, but it is the most expensive item in the game. Thanks to your ship, the fur is currently unnecessary.

Shops

Doug says: "Welcome to D.J.'s Daggers. Would you like a fine dagger for only 3 Gold?" A merchant says: "Welcome to Abraham's armor outlet. Are you buying today?"

Castle Lunca[edit]

Map of Castle Lunca
See also the corresponding text transcript.

Castle Lunca is located on a peninsula all the way west from Luncatia.

All the services in the castle are good: the King raises your other attribute; the healer restore twice as many health points than any other healer; the food is the cheapest so far; and the weapon shop sells the most powerful weapons.

Many inhabitants of Castle Lunca talk about the sword of Rhin.

Grinding time[edit]

In Castle Thierry, a guard prevents you from talking to the Princess, and therefore from obtaining the next key item (the force suit).

Use the ship and "grind enemies" until you purchased the best available armor (in Rara Avis) and a large amount of health points (e.g. 3000 HP) from the healer in Castle Lunca (she has the best price). You can also repeatedly loot the treasury in Castle Thierry. (Also remember to talk to King Patrick and King Nimbus to raise you agility and strength, respectively.)

Then, enter castle Thierry, attack the "bodyguard", step back, move around, talk to the princess (ask what you were told in Paranor). After you obtained the force suit item, run from the castle. Some guards could block you at the exit from the royal rooms: make a U-turn, let them come in, make another U-turn and leave with them in queue. When the gate guards arrive, turn back and run around the central fountain, until you see an opening to escape the castle.

Visiting the jails[edit]

Map of Rara Avis

If the grinding gets boring, take a break and visit the jails in Rara Avis and Helwan.

In Rara Avis, one of the prisoners is aggressive; you can notice the one who follows your movements left and right. As a guard warned you, if you open the cell and fight him, all the guards will attack you. If you open that cell before finding the information you need, you might be forced to slay him, but this way all guards will activate. If a prisoner get aggressive, it is better to leave town and try again (the prisoners have very low hit rate and deal minimal damage).

In Helwan, a guard prevents you from talking to the prisoners in the jail.

Collect another boat key in the ruins of Irray, go back to Helwan and take another ship. Position the ship straight north from the jail entrance. Go south, hit the guard, run back to the ship and open fire on the guards until they all are defeated (if you try and talk to them, they will still say "Welcome to Helwan", as they beat you up). Now you can freely talk to the prisoners.

The force suit, the sub-key, the submarine[edit]

Using the force suit, you can get past the force fields in Paranor (as well as the one in Castle Thierry throne room).

In Paranor, a keeper prevents you from accessing the sub-key.

If you attack the man, all guards in Paranor will activate. If you let him follow you in the seashell spiral, he will block your exit, and you will have to attack him anyway.

Instead, let the man follow you to the force field to the east, cross it, and he will stay behind. Re-enter from the southern force field, and the man will be in a corner, unable to reach you. Take the sub-key, and leave in peace. Re-enter the village and take one or two more, just in case.

In Castle Lunca, you can use the sub-key to access the submarine harbor. Two more commands become available: [D]ive and [S]urface. You will need them to leave the castle already. The submarine can also [F]ire cannons (torpedoes?) like a ship.
