All artifacts must be equipped on the hero to provide any benefits.
- Bonus Information
Most bonuses are additive in this game. For example, if the hero has both the Ring of Conjuring and Cape of Conjuring, then the hero's spells will have their duration increased by 5 rounds. Similarly, for percentage bonuses, a Hero with the Amulet of the Undertaker and the Dead Man's Boots will receive a 20% bonus to his Necromancy skill.
In the case of bonuses to skills, the hero only gains the bonuses if he has learned the relevant skill.
- Item Classes
Item Classes are used to determine a lot of different things in the game. There are four ranks of items, and from weakest to strongest, they are Treasure, Minor, Major, and Relic. As expected, the higher ranked the item, there will be less of them available on the map, they will be guarded more heavily, and they will cost more.

There is additional miscellaneous artifact called a Spell Scroll. A Spell Scroll can have any spell in the game on it, and that spell is added to your spellbook, but only while you have the scroll equipped.

Combination Artifacts can be made from certain artifacts. To form a Combination Artifact, you must equip all artifacts needed on your hero, and then on one of the component items. You'll then get a prompt to make the artifact. A Combination Artifact gives all the bonuses of the component parts, plus an extra bonus. However, even though it is displayed as only one item, it will still take up all the slots the component parts used. If you wish, you can disassemble a Combination Artifact back into the component parts by on the artifact. There is no limit to how many times you create or disassemble a Combination Artifact.
The hero does not take any penalties from boarding or unboarding a ship.

Bow of the Sharpshooter
All of your ranged troops ignore the penalties for shooting at a target too far away and for shooting at a target behind an obstacle. Also, your ranged troops will do full damage in melee.

Cloak of the Undead King
Allows the hero to convert 30% of killed units into Skeletons at the end of each battle. If the hero has the Necromancy skill, he instead gains an extra 30% creatures from his Necromancy skill. Also, instead of Skeletons, he will raise Zombies with basic Necromancy, Wights with advance Necromancy, or Liches with expert Necromancy.

Elixir of Life
All of your units gain a 25% bonus to their base health values, and they gain the regeneration ability, which will fully heal the top unit of the stack when they act. This artifact will not benefit undead or unliving creatures.

Power of the Dragon Father

Statue of Legion
When equipped by a hero in the town, growth for all creatures is increased by 50%. The 50% bonus is calculated off what the Castle would generate before any bonuses are applied.

The hero with this artifact equipped can use a special spell called Titan's Lightning Bolt. This spell does 600 damage, and costs no spell points. If the hero does not have a spellbook, one will be given to him permanently at no cost.
