Unlike regular items, artifacts are stores in your inventory as soon as you pick them up. Quest items are not listed here. They are picked-up and stored in the inventory just like artifacts, but they can’t be used in a fight, they can be used only in specific spots, usually revealing new paths.

  • Disc of Repulsion pushes back monsters and projectiles. Monsters receive damage when they hit the wall or other obstacles. If a pushed back monster hits another monster, then can begin attacking each other. Also good when fighting on narrow ledge, since it allows to throw a foe to the bottomless pit. If you push back a self-guided projectile, it begins chasing the one who fired it. Despite the benefit this item can give, some skill for effective usage of Disc required.
  • Dragonskin Bracers increase your AC value by 4.
  • Krater of Might fully restores your mana.
  • Dark Servant summons a well-known enemy from Heretic – the Maultaur itself. It’s the strongest enemy in the previous game except for D’Sparil himself. Maultaur fights on your side for a limited time.
  • Wings of Wrath give you unlimited ability to fly in bounds of each map of current hub. Allows you to explore the map and attack monsters being out of the harm’s way of melee ones. There’s no point of saving this item since it can’t run out or be taken to the next hub.
  • Mystic ambit incant’s effect fully depends on your class.
  • Quartz Flask restores your HP by 25.
  • Icon of the Defender gives you temporal invulnerability. Some classes have additional effect.
  • Torch removes all shadows from the game for 2 minutes.
  • Flechette is a weapon which can be used by any character. The effect depends on a specific class.
  • Porkalator works very similar to Torpol's Morph Ovum from Heretic. It fires 5 projectiles. If any of it hits an enemy, that enemy is instantly turned into a piggie, which can be easily killed.
  • Boots of Speed increase your speed by 50% for a limited time.
  • Mystic Urn fully restores your HP.
  • Darchala's Chaos Device teleports you to the level’s starting position. Since picking up some really powerful artifacts can kill you (for example, the ceiling falls down as soon as you take the item), Chaos Device allows you to take such artifacts and escape instant death. Really useful in Deathkings of dark Citadel.
  • Banishment Device fires a magical bolt. If that bolt hits the target, it’s teleported to a random position. It doesn’t kill the monster, but allows dealing with it later. Extremely useful against enemies in positions where they have obvious advantage.
