This is the lair of Korax. Cross the bridge, and open the door.

Entrance[edit]

After opening the door, there is a small flight of stairs, with a switch on the left. Pulling this switch generates mana (including a Krater of Might), and it may be pulled multiple times. Pulling it every six times creates five dark bishops, and pulling it every 20 times alternates between creating a Mystic Urn and five slaughtaurs. You can farm as much mana and urns as you want.

When you are ready, ascend the rest of the stairs and pull the switches on the left and right of the doors.

First chamber[edit]

Korax starts on the opposite side of the chamber. The demon is slow moving, but tough, and has a main threat of firing six projectiles in a focused shot.

He can also manipulate the arena, causing one of the four effects to occur:

  • Activate spikes in the middle of the green tiled path.
  • Cause the floor to turn to lava for 6 seconds, along with fireballs being launched.
  • Activate a ceiling fireball trap.
  • Nothing. (This only has an effect in the second chamber, where it releases chaos serpents and dark bishops.)

If you have an icon of the defender, you can use one of them now if you need to engage Korax in close range. Otherwise, simply use the ultimate weapon to do as much damage as possible.

When Korax is reduced to half health, he will teleport away, and the side doors will open to reveal 32 ettins. When those are defeated, 32 centaurs are released. You can take your time defeating all the enemies, as the doors will only open upon defating the last of the wave.

Second chamber[edit]

When Korax begins attacking again, he will start to teleport. The teleportation is in a fixed pattern between the two chambers.

While in the second chamber, he can also perform the following:

  • Open doors to reveal 32 green chaos serpants. On the second use, reveals 32 dark bishops. No further effect once both groups are released.
  • Creates a translucent Ettin or Centaur in a random spawn point.

Despite the new tricks, Korax is still a bit weak. If you finish him off with your most powerful weapon, he might not even have time to release the new creatures.

When he is defeated, ghosts will burst out and fly about randomly. The door on the west will open, allowing you to reach the portal to finish the game.
