This page covers some unrelated missions following the opening of Mar's Tomb.

Mission: Rescue Friends in Fortress[edit]

Location: Fortress

Follow the dagger icon to the Underground HQ and go in. You may notice that there are now KG clad in yellow in addition to the ones in red. These take more hits to defeat but are the same otherwise.

Cutscene: "Torn Admits His Treachery"
You ask how the Baron knew you found the Tomb of Mar; it was a rhetorical question but Torn answers that he told him because the Baron threatened to have Ashelin executed. (Actually the fact that the largest statue in the city is now a pile of rubble with a never before seen doorway at the base might have had something to do with it too.) Torn says freeing the other members of the Underground is probably a suicide mission, but you're not going to let that stop you from trying.

Follow the castle icon to the Fortress gate and go in. Enter the passage behind the machinery in the lobby. There is a walkway with KG on platforms on either side and a large number of KG, some flying, further down. First defeat these, which can be a tricky battle but shouldn't be too bad if you take your time with it. Start with the Blaster and switch to the Vulcan when reinforcements arrive; you should be able to get back all the ammo you spend in drops. Come back and use the Dive attack to activate the four red buttons on the platforms. Continue through to the next room and activate a final button to open an electric gate.

Next comes a group of laser sighted turrets. Keep an eye on the lasers and hop over them when needed to avoid them their fire. Jump on their tops to get past them, but if you're low on health check the KG crates here for health packs.

This leads to a kind of trough with low electric fences travelling down it. From the shape you might think you should use the JET-Board, but you'll probably be safer on foot here and you can just jump over the fences if they catch up to you. Make a sharp right to a new room; the jump at the edge of the trough can be tricky so switch to the JET-Board if you have trouble. Then you must time you way past more laser sighted guns while grinding.

You next go through a passage where KG fire at you through the ceiling, but you shouldn't get hit much if you keep moving. This leads a room with KG waiting on a ledge. Snipe these and enter the room with care since there are more laser sighted guns and KG around the corner. You should be safe from the guns once you're on the ledge. Time your way past the guns to a door to the next section.

There is a room with the spider robots from the Baron's battle. These are infinite so just blast through them to the next room. You now enter the very same room where the game started.

Cutscene: "The Time Twins"
The doors to the cells open, releasing Tess, the younger Samos and the long lost older Samos, though Kor and the Kid are still missing. The two Samoses start to argue with each other about what to do next but since the Vin may not be able to keep the Warp Gate open long you say it would be better to worry about that later.

Mission: Escort men through Sewers[edit]

Location: Sewers
Reward: Peace Maker

Follow the martini glass icon to the Hip Hog and go in.

Cutscene: "Sig Bares His Soul"
Krew is sleeping so Sig reveals Krew is planning something dangerous, but Krew wakes up before he can go into detail. Now Krew wants you to go back to the sewer and escort three of his men back to the statue you found earlier.

Follow the green circle icon to the sewer gate and go in. As promised there are three of Krew's men waiting there, Jinx, Mog & Grim. (There are no introductions so it's hard to tell which one is which, but Jinx seems to be the leader, Mog the dumb one, and Grim the quiet one.)

Escort missions in general can be annoying but this is especially so since there are three people you need to protect and they keep up a constant humorous banter. Not that the banter is that bad but hearing the same jokes repeated over and over gets on your nerves. One way to keep things interesting after the first or second try is to change the to a different language in the Game options menu so won't be able to understand what they're saying.

There is a new type of Metal Head to deal with here that attacks with a laser beam which they sweep from side to side. Use your Blaster on them for the most part. Note that if you wander off and start exploring on your own you will get a Mission Failed.

Start by taking the lift down to a lower passage, defeat Metal heads on the way, then another group that "crawl down the walls" in the nest room. When these are gone your companions use explosives to clear a blockage and you must stand clear of the blast or you will take damage. A good place to stand is on the ledge on the left since you can pick up ammo while you wait.

Follow the passage to a bridge, down a lift, then into another passage, defeating more Metal Heads as you go. For each Metal Head you see in front of you there is another trying to sneak up from behind, so keep checking behind your companions.

Next comes a point where two sets of Metal Heads have taken up posts and are sweeping the hallway with their lasers. Wait for a gap to appear, then jump into it and start firing at the Metal Heads; their lasers are interrupted when you hit them so you should be relatively safe if you keep shooting, but jump over any laser you see sweeping your way.

After this is another spot where your companions stop to clear a blockage; get the blue ammo refills here. There is a short cutscene ("It's a Trap!") where the explosion triggers an attack by a large number of Metal Heads at once, so switch to Scatter Gun or Vulcan Gun. This is a good place to pull out Dark Jak if available.

When the rush of Metal Heads has been cleared, you companions will continue down the passage to the statue.

Cutscene: "Statue Busting"
Your companions place a charge of explosives on the statue and, before you can stop them, detonate it. The statue is destroyed revealing the Heart of Mar, a large ruby.

Exit the same way you did in the last mission here, then follow the gun icon to the gun course in the port to pick up the last weapon in the game, the Peace Maker.

Mission: Win Class 2 Race at Stadium[edit]

Location: Haven City (Stadium)

Follow the wrench icon to the stadium:

Cutscene: "Jak Walks Out"
You see Erol before you see Keira and he's as unfriendly as ever. He's not worried about not getting you earlier because now he can do it on the track. Keira comes in with the older Samos finishing up their reunion. Keira doesn't seem to realize what a villain Erol is and has heard rumors about your turning into Dark Jak. Not only that, but she's unhappy about your working for Krew. You get angry and walk out, leaving Daxter to do the Class 2 race solo.

You race as Daxter this time but the race is very similar to Class 3, the track layout being the main difference. In this case there are fewer sharp turns so you can keep the accelerator on more, but the lack of straightaways restricts using the turbo boost to only one or two spots. There are two shortcuts on this track, but they are close together so using both in same lap will be difficult. Again, the other racers will copy you if you use them so you're better off just following the regular track to win the race. There are a couple of places where ditches appear in the track. Stay in the center if you can, but if you end up in a ditch just follow it to the end; you shouldn't lose much time unless you get hung up on the side. If you do get stuck in a ditch then use a power boost to get back to speed.

Cutscene: "Daxter's Big Win"
You return while Daxter, Keira and Tess are celebrating. You compliment Daxter on his driving and any hard feeling between the two of you are left behind.

Mission: Protect Hideout from Bombots[edit]

Location: Haven City (slums, industrial area)

Follow the dagger icon to the Underground HQ and go in.

Cutscene: "Protect the Hideout"
The older and younger versions of Samos are arguing with each other, but they do agree that the robots send by the Baron to destroy the Underground HQ are bad news. You must destroy them before any reach their destination.

The important things for this mission are to get to and destroy them quickly. The Vulcan is best for this if you have enough ammo for it. Follow the green circles to find the robots. The order doesn't make too much difference, though you'll want to do the one coming from the north either first or last. When you get to a robot, position yourself just behind it so that its laser will shoot over you. Then start pumping bullets into it until you hear it start to beep. The beeps speed up until the robots explodes and you'll take damage if you're near it when it does, so retreat as soon as you hear the beeping. Find the next robot and repeat.
