Bat Caves[edit]

Part 1
18 nitro boxes
The initial area, set in the park, is very large. Here you will find some annoying enemies, like walking onions, that will leap over you, then stop a short distance away. You will have to attack them when they stop, but it takes five hits to defeat them. You can find 18 nitro boxes scattered around this area, even if the last one is already behind the gate that you will have to open. However, none of them are particularly hidden, you should be able to find them all without problems. You'll also find an extra life, hitting the thinnest statue three times with your tail. You will also need to find the five letters to open a grate marked with the letter K, which is located on the left side of the park. To get the letter A, you will have to go up to the water jet of the fountain before the bridge, where there are also some pumpkins. The letter R is located in the farthest area of the park, beyond the pond, behind a tree. After taking these two letters, a scene will show you a portion of ground collapsing. It is located near the largest statue, behind some bushes. Go to the place and go down into the underground passage (you can also enter it by jumping repeatedly on this portion of the ground even before finding the two letters, if you want). At the bottom of the tunnel you will find a switch and an extra life. Activate the switch, to lengthen the water jet of some fountains. Going up on a moving platform near the switch then, you can reach a room under the bridge, which you have probably already noticed, where you can take the letter N. Go back and climb the jet of the fountain to the right of the bridge to find the letter F. Finally reach the fountain near the grate that you have to open and climb on the water jet to find the letter K. At this point, you will have obtained the Golden K token. If you have already destroyed 17 nitro boxes in the park, open the grate marked with a K, with the “Bat Caves” sign next to it. Be very careful not to miss the last nitro box, just beyond the grate. Then take the tunnel on the right to enter the next area.

Part 2
8 nitro boxes
1 hostage
Go down the stairs and follow the path. You will come to a point where in order to continue you will have to cling to ropes to overcome the precipices. There are also extra lives at the lower end of the ropes. But beware of bats: if they attack you while you are in the air they can make you fall. Take the next tunnel and go down until you find a letter K. You will now have to grab some more ropes to continue. Climb on the pulley to cross the precipice and reach a check box. In the next area you will have to proceed on precarious wooden planks avoiding intermittent jets of water. Advance very carefully. You will come to another cave, with a check box and a nitro box. You will now have to continue on a wide wooden path. You will also find another nitro box. At the end, jump to the right on a similar path to find another nitro box. After a few steps, however, the huge boulder behind you will fall and roll towards you. Quickly run towards the camera, cross the small gap and then jump to the right, gliding over the suspended nitro box, to avoid the boulder. If you get hit by the boulder, of course, you will immediately lose a life. Continue on the new path, collecting the extra life in the cavity. Another boulder will fall and roll towards you. Quickly go back, enter the cavity where the extra life was and duck. The boulder will roll over you. Then go to the point where the boulder fell and jump to the new path. You will also find a check box. Again, after a few steps, a third boulder behind you will fall and start rolling. This path is much longer than the ones you have just faced, you will need to be quick and precise. You will have to be careful not to miss the three nitro boxes that you will encounter. Along the way there are some TNT boxes that you will have to avoid and some gaps to jump. You will have to hold out until you cross a rotten stretch of bridge, which will not support the weight of the boulder and will collapse. After getting rid of the boulder, you will notice a grate with a K behind you. At the moment, however, you cannot open it, so ignore it. Continue along the path and you will find a check box and a nitro box. You will then have to overcome a long precipice, gliding. You will come to an area where you will have to continue by jumping on some small platforms and cobwebs suspended in the void. You will have to move in order to avoid the quartz crystals: if you touch them you will hurt yourself and you will inevitably fall. Finally, you will come to another check box. Defeat the onion to get the letter N and collect the letter R above the pipe. Then take the path on the left. Climb the chains and collect the extra life. Continuing, you will find a cage with a hostage to free. The winch to hit is located on the left wall. There is also a nitro box nearby. You will notice that you are back near the area with the jets of water. Further ahead there is a check box. You will now have to overcome other precarious axes, avoiding jets of water. You will also find the letter F on the path. Finally, taking a leap, you will return to the area with the hanging ropes, where you passed before. Fortunately, you won't have to redo the entire route this time. After passing the ropes, instead of climbing onto the platform with the pulley, jump and glide, following the long line of pumpkins that have appeared in front of you. You will arrive directly in front of the grate marked with the K. In front, you will also find the last letter, the A. Open the grate and proceed.

Part 3
4 nitro boxes
1 hostage
Climb up the path, avoiding the rolling cans. Once at the top, you can defeat the enemy who throws the cans, in the usual way. You will then have to go through a series of presses, being careful not to get crushed. Just move with timing. After the presses you will find a check box. Do not go near the Z-shaped wood, or you will be hit and injured. Instead, knock down the grate on the left with a flick of the tail. You'll find three extra lives, two nitro boxes and a hostage to free. You will also be attacked by some enemies, so be careful. Go back and go straight ahead. You will now have to overcome a rather treacherous area, holding on to ropes to avoid falling into the water. Reach the wooden plank and climb on it, being careful not to fall. You will now have to jump on the floating crates that go towards the pipe. Do not enter the pipe yourself, or you will have to start this area from the beginning. Instead, jump onto the floating crates on the sides. After passing the stretch of water, you will find the last two nitro boxes and an enemy that throws bombs. It takes five hits to kill him and each time you hit him he'll drop a letter. After defeating him, you will be able to open the door at the bottom. There is also a golden pumpkin that will allow you to recover your energy before the fight with the boss.

BOSS FIGHT – Huge Frog
You will find yourself in a huge flooded room, with many platforms arranged in a circular way and a frog in the center. Dennis will use a beam to enlarge the frog, which will attack you. In this battle, you should always stay on the outermost platforms, away from the boss. The frog will attack you with its tongue, trying to draw you close to it and make you fall into the water. You will then have to keep moving, clockwise or counterclockwise, to avoid his attacks. The frog will not move from its position and can only rotate slowly, so you shouldn't have particular problems. When you have a good lead, grab one of the TNT boxes and throw it at the frog. The crate will automatically bounce off the platforms, reaching the boss, so hitting it is no problem. After hitting it, the frog will drop stalactites, which you can avoid by continuing to move or crouching, before resuming attacking in the usual way. Hit the boss until it is defeated. The water level will gradually rise, so if you take too long, you will drown and lose a life. However, if this happens, when you resume fighting the water level will reset.

Root Canal[edit]

Part 1
18 nitro boxes
As soon as you enter, you will be shown the fountain near the pond, which now has a higher water jet, which will allow you to reach the islet. First, you'll need to explore the park again. The 18 nitro boxes are in the same position as before, including the one behind the grate of the Bat Caves, which is now open. The five letters that you will have to find to access this new level, however, are in a different position. The letter N is on the right side of the bridge. The letter A is almost in the same position as before, on the top of the fountain's water jet near the bridge, only slightly to the side. To reach the letters K and R you must first enter the underground passage by repeatedly jumping over the entrance and activate the switch, to lengthen the water jets of some fountains (reaching the hidden room under the bridge this time is useless). Then climbing on the fountain jet near the entrance to the Bat Caves you will find the letter R, while the letter K is located near the top of the fountain on the left of the park. Finally, after taking all the items, go to the fountain in front of the pond. Climbing to the top of the water jet, you can jump and glide towards the island in the center of the pond, while taking the letter F. Once on the islet, go around the tree, to discover a grate marked with a K. Open it and enter.

Part 2
12 nitro boxes
2 hostages
As soon as you are inside, you will have to face a sub-boss. You will find yourself in a circular room with a carnivorous plant with four roots in the center. The roots will attack you like whips, while the carnivorous plant will try to bite you if you get close. Try to eliminate the roots first, as you can freely attack them with your tail and with two or three hits you will defeat them. Then focus on the plant in the center. The plant will make two sets of bites (to avoid its attack just stay at a distance), then stop. At that point, you can attack it with your tail. It takes about eight hits to kill it. At that point, a hole will open in the floor. Jump into it.

You will land at the beginning of a long icy descent. After getting the pumpkins and the two nitro boxes nearby, start the descent. You will face it all by sliding, without being able to stop. You will have to constantly be careful not to end up out of the way and to avoid attacks by roots sticking out of the ground. During the descent you will also have to collect the five letters K, N, A, R and F, as well as five other nitro boxes. Just before the finish line, you will notice the two winches to free the hostages suspended above. You will have to hit them to activate them. On the bottom there is a door marked with a K on the right and another opening on the left. You will also notice a yellow circle on the ground, with “P08” written on it. This is the entrance to a bonus level, which you can only access when you have the required power. Enter first on the left. Here you can collect many pumpkins, four extra lives and the last five nitro boxes. On the left there is also a jet of water that will allow you to return to the beginning of the descent if you climb on it: do it if you have missed any item along the descent. If you have already taken everything and freed both hostages, enter the door with the K, to face the boss.

BOSS FIGHT – Fighting Bear
You will meet Dr. Knarf, but he will make you fall into a trap in the floor. You will find yourself on a large platform facing a bear similar to a sumo wrestler. The bear can attack you in three different ways. If you get close, he may try to hit you with his arms or bite you. If you are at a distance, instead, it can take a long leap, trying to land on you. So move accordingly. You cannot attack the bear from the front, but only on the back. The best time to do this is when it attacks you with a jump: after landing, in fact, the bear will remain stationary for a few moments and you can take advantage of this to hit it in the back. If you try to do it while moving instead, usually the bear will make a quick leap backwards laughing, preventing you from hitting it. So try to always stay at a distance, hitting the bear every time it leaps. Repeat the process until you defeat it.
