The evil DIO had taken over the body of Joseph's grandfather, Jonathan, and lain at the bottom of the ocean for the last 100 years.
Now DIO had awoken...and thanks to the Joestar blood in Jonathan's body, so had the Stands sleeping within Joseph and Jotaro.
Joseph explains that, because of this, they are destined themselves to do battle with DIO.
Meanwhile, Noriaki Kakyoin, an assassin sent by DIO, arrives on the scene to attack Jotaro.

- You know why you lost, DIO? You made one mistake... Just one mistake...
DIO, the 100-year-old emperor of all evil, was finally dead.
Exposed to the morning sun, his body turns into dust and disappears.
In his heart, Jotaro proclaims his victory to all his fallen comrades...
Now, Avdol, Iggy and Kakyoin could rest assured in the knowledge that the battle was over.
Later, Jotaro, Joseph and Eiffel arrive at an airport in Egypt.
It was a hard journey, but the newly forged bonds between them make it all worthwhile.
Arms around each other, they say their farewells.
- Eiffel: Adieu, old man! Live a long life, tu ringard!
- And you...you're just as stingy as your granddad! Don't you forget about me!
- Joseph: I hope we meet again... Assuming you don't hate me by now, you sonofagun!
Jotaro: Couldn't forget a nut like you if I tried. Take care of yourself.
