Walkthrough[edit]

Ruins: After meeting up, your first destination should be the ruins which are found just to the west of the desert located on the bottom of the map (shown to the right). From where you met, head south until you reach the desert, and then cross the desert to the west. Duck below the mountain range and continue west and the ruins should come into view (location 4-K). Explore the ruins and inside the middle buidling, you'll find a chest containing a Pearl Coin. These coins are the one item which you can sell for as much as you can buy, 1000 Pearls. They act like an investment against dying, since their value isn't cut in half whenever you die.

Dead priest: While you are in this area, there is a small mountain path south of the ruins which leads to a cave in the west. In this cave, you will find the dead priest who sells powerful Devil equipment. The armor and sickle he sells are powerful indeed, but they are also cursed. Wearing the armor will reduce how much damage you deal (in theory, although a bug in the code prevents this from happening), and each use of the sickle will cause a small amount of damage to the wielder. At 2000 pearls apiece, even if you can afford them, you're probably better off without them.

Travel to Stogg: Your next destination is the village of Stogg which is nestled between some mountains and a river. The fastest way to reach it is to walk straight north from the ruins and follow the river. However, this area is home to some of the strongest enemies that you'll encounter, and you are not quite ready for that level of challenge yet. Instead, play it safe by walking the long way around. Head back to the east across the desert, and then start making your way north, across a small bridge, and then over to the west. Stay on the grassy area (don't go into the forest area west of the mountains) and look for a cave entrance that leads to a passage beneath the channel (location 2-K). There is no "Devil's formation" to worry about here, simply take the passage to the cave north of the river. Once you're on the other side, it's a short walk to the west before you come upon another cave. You will take that cave in a moment, but not just yet.

Stogg: To reach Stogg from here, you will still have to travel through dangerous territory. You may have to run from several battles in order to reach Stogg, but it's worth it. From the second cave, head south into the forest below the mountains, and then head east. Stogg should come into view east of the mountain range. Walk above the mountains and then down into the valley where Stogg sits (location 2-J). Once you reach Stogg, find the shop. You should buy the Earth Mantle, which is very strong protection for Babubabu, even if you have to sell the Pearl Coin in order to afford it. Once you do this, head back out and safely make your way back to the cave above the mountains.

Marina del Pei: Enter the cave and take the underground passage up to the exit far to the north. You will arrive on the east tip of an island. Follow the southern coast down and to the west, and you will reach the fishing village of Marina del Pei (which is too far north for the game to provide a location). Before you talk with the Goblin inside, try to purchase the Earth Staff for Babubabu if you can afford it. Then rest up at the hotel and challenge the Goblin. You should be able to defeat him and earn 2500 Pearls in the process. This will certainly help you secure the 2600 Pearls that you need in order to buy a boat. Purchase the boat and then head outside.

Location of the Space-Time Ring

The First Map: The Traveling Monk that the Hero spoke with said that the First Map indicated a location north of Reharetta Castle. This is where you want to sail to now. Sailing introduces it's own challenges, as the northern waters are filled with moderately powerful enemies, so you must travel carefully. It's a good idea to head south a little first so that you can follow the northern coastline and determine where you are. You want to travel east until you're above the island that contains Possara Village (which you should visit now to obtain the Key of Dagon if you didn't go through the Underground Graveyard earlier.) Once you reach this island, continue until you reach the channel between that island and the next, and start sailing north. You will soon reach a coral reef. Examine the First Map to determine the exact location of the treasure, and then go to that spot and Search. You will obtain the Space-Time Ring.

Surrounding islands: There are two islands in the vicinity of the coral reef, one very close to the west, and one a bit farther to the east. The large island to the left contains a small room with two wells. These wells are actually warp wells which transport you to other locations in the world. However, these two wells send you into the heart of the forest to the west of Stogg, so it's not advised that you use them right now. Much farther to the east, north of Reharetta Castle, is a very tiny island, and on it, you'll find a single shop. This shop sells Tents for 650, which you can use anywhere on the map to instantly restore everyone's health. Tents are usually a good investment.

Returning south: At this time, you should investigate the location indicated on Babubabu's Fourth Map. The Travelling Monk said that this location was south of Maiyo Castle. You have a couple of options to return there. You could walk all the way back, which is relatively safe, but slow. You could sail back, which is a bit faster, but also a bit dangerous since many of the enemies you face will still be quite strong. However, there's a third option that will save you the most time. Return to Reharetta Castle. If you recall, there is a staircase found in the upper left corner of the castle, but it's blocked off by water. Now that you have a boat, you can easily access this staircase. If you do, you will find a warp well down below. Enter the well, and you will be transported to a tiny island south of Maiyo Castle. Below this island is another island where you can find the tiny village of Tangu.

Location of the Earth Scroll

The Fourth Map: If you visit Tangu, a man will suggest that you are on the right track if you sail straigh west from there. Do so, and you will eventually come upon an oddly shaped island. If you reference Babubabu's Fourth Map, you should actually recognize the shape of the island on your map. Sail to the location of the X and Search, and you will obtain the Earth Scroll. At this time, sail back to Tangu Island, heal up, and use the Pass command to transfer control over to KupiKupi and Poyon.
