After the opening plays, the main menu will show four options:
- エピソード (Episode): A mode which allows you to play through the story from the perspective of the heroes or the villains. The hero episodes must first be cleared to unlock the villain story.
- ドリームハイパーバトル！ (Dream Hyper Battle!): Free battle mode; choose the character you and the computer will fight as, as well as the supports that will be used.
- マフィアランキング (Mafia Rankings): A tournament mode. Defeat the entire cast to become the best.
- ボンゴレアート (Vongole Art): View art and character profiles unlocked throughout Episode mode.
Episode mode is the main mode and requires the player to make numerous decisions, such as choosing which character to see or which action to take. However, the primary component of gameplay is the battles. Every character has a standard or light attack, heavy attack, and the ability to block, dash, and call supports. Dashes and supports may act as methods of retreat, but combining them with attacks to form combos is also possible. The fighter's Dying Will is signified by a gauge near their health. Fill this gauge and the character will become engulfed in flames, increasing their attack power. Specials can only be activated at the end of battle, when the opponent's health has dropped to 0, by pressing the standard attack button.
Supports[edit]
Supports can be equipped before battle so that they may be called upon to help fight the opponent. The bar under their portraits must be filled for them to perform a short attack on the enemy before leaving. After each battle done with the supports, they will level up and become more powerful. All playable fighters may be used as supports, along with other characters from the manga/anime series, including:

- I-Pin
- Ryohei Sasagawa
- Kyoko Sasagawa
- Haru Miura
- Bianchi
- Dr. Shamal
- MM
- Bloody Twins (Jiji & Djidji)
- Namimori Prefect
- Mafia Grunt
