Puka Puka Kasabe
Kikikaikai enemy Pukapuka.png
The Puka Puka are small ghosts that wander down the screen and turn right or left when Sayo passes them. They are common and appear in every stage. Even though they are basic enemies, don't underestimate them; they can spit projectiles in one of eight directions during the later half of the game. Try to shoot them before they have a chance to fire at you.

Kasabes are umbrella shaped enemies that can appear in groups of up to four. They typically appear closed, get close to Sayo-chan, open up, and dance around her in a circle, before closing again, and attempting to spear her on their way out. When they surround Sayo, they stay just outside of the rage of her purification wand, so you must shoot them.
Rumuru Otama
Kikikaikai enemy Rumuru.png
Rumurus are tiny apparitions that can't actually kill Sayo-chan, but they like to cling on to her legs. When a Rumuru grabs Sayo, it slows her down. The more that actually grab on, the slower Sayo becomes. If Sayo passes under the red archways known as a torii, they will instantly let go. If there is no torii around, Sayo can attempt to lose them by walking around a lantern, but it's difficult. It's best to destroy them before they have a chance to grab Sayo. In a worst case scenario, use a yellow crystal ball.

Otamas are spirits that travel together in a single file formation. One Otama will lead a group around the screen. If Sayo-chan manages to defeat the entire group, the last Otama will drop an item for Sayo to collect. Most commonly, they drop a blue Ofuda power-up. They appear quite frequently in the beginning of the first stage, but they will also appear after Sayo loses a life. They don't intentionally move to collide with Sayo, so they are relatively easy to avoid.
Bake Uri Bake Chouchin
Kikikaikai enemy Bakeuri.png
Appearing as if someone carved a Jack 'O Lantern into a melon, the bake uri always appear from the various wells placed around Japan. They can attack Sayo from twelve different directions around the well whenever she passes through one of those directions. If Sayo manages to stand in place along one of their lines of attack, they will appear continuously. When the do, and if Sayo continues to shoot all of them as they appear, other vegetables such as onions and carrots will appear and drop different Ofuda power-ups when they are destroyed.

These "ghost lanterns" tend to fly on to the screen in groups of three. They fly rather slowly and cautiously until they feel they are within range of Sayo-chan's attack. At that point, they spit a fireball out in Sayo's direction, and immediately flee the screen. For this reason, they can be difficult to hit. Focus on avoiding the fire that they shoot.
Ogei Hashiritai
Kikikaikai enemy Ogei.png
Also known as a Rokurokubi. Every now and then, Sayo will pass by a small hut. These huts are commonly occupied by a kind of demon who disguises itself as a normal woman with the ability to extend its neck extremely far. As Sayo passes the hut, the Rokurokubi will stretch its neck out in an attempt to eat Sayo. Shoot the head several times to keep it from pestering you.

Appearing a lot like a fish that has sprouted legs, these spirits leap out of the water, particularly by bridges, and hop across the screen in a diagonal direction. They aren't specifically out to get Sayo, but they tend to get in her way. They are easy to defeat and should be removed from the screen quickly.
Ichidou Minojii
Kikikaikai enemy Ichidou.png
These are the one eyed goblins who came along and kidnapped the Shichifukujin, or seven gods of fortune, in front of Sayo-chan shortly before her adventures began. They are quite timid, and it is very rare for Sayo to see one during the course of her rescue mission. If one happens to see her, it will quickly run away and summon help from stronger allies.
Kikikaikai enemy Minojii.png
Minojii are rather large demons that appear like over grown babies. Their temperament isn't much better. They appear on the screens in groups wanting nothing more than Sayo's attention. Of course, if they get a hold of her, they will sit on her and force her to entertain them, causing Sayo to lose a life. Remove them quickly before they have a chance to squash her.
Rin Rin Yonebaa
Kikikaikai enemy Rinrin.png
These apparitions run around with fox masks attached to their faces. They are quite ninja like, appearing only briefly before stopping and throwing a projectile at you with fair accuracy. They can be defeated with one Ofuda card, so watch them carefully, avoid their projectiles, and shoot them before they have a chance to attack you once again.
Kikikaikai enemy Yonebaa.png
The Yonebaa are a little like the Rin Rin in that they throw stones at Sayo. However, the Yonebaa tend to remain motionless, making them a little easier to hit. The Yonebaa also have a habit of attacking from slightly out of the way locations, so you must decide if it's worth it to get close enough to them to attack, or simply run past them and avoid the stones that they throw.
Nyoro Nyoro Toosenbou
Kikikaikai enemy Nyoronyoro.png
The Nyoro Nyoro are ghosts that take the form of white snakes. They slither along the ground in groups, each vying to be the one that reaches Sayo and coils up around her. They are quite big, so they make easy targets, but they are also quite fast and difficult to avoid. When you see them, stop moving and make it a priority to remove them from the screen with your Ofuda.
Kikikaikai enemy Toosenbou.png
Looking like a giant tombstone with feet, the Toosenbou wander up and down the screen until they sense that Sayo-chan might be near. Then they immediately rush in her direction and fall to the ground in an attempt to crush her. Once they fall, they crumble and are no longer a threat. They can take a lot of Ofuda talismans to defeat, so you must decide whether to attack them before they run, or trigger them and get out of the way so that they defeat themselves.
Garakotsu Ring of Fire
Kikikaikai enemy Garakotsu.png
The Garakotsu are zombies that crawl out of the ground whenever Sayo-chan remains in one place for too long. They get up on their feet and walk in Sayo's direction. If they hit a wall or another structure, they dig their way back into the ground. If you hit them, they crumble to the ground, but only temporarily. After a while, they get back up on their feet and attack you again, only faster. The best strategy is to simply stay on your toes and never hang around one place for too long. If you see one appear, try to stun them and then scroll them off the screen before they have a chance to revive.
Kikikaikai ring of fire.png
Another obstacle that appears when you take too long in any one particular stage, the Ring of Fire will appear and bounce around the screen. It won't necessarily bounce in your direction, but it is likely to, and unlike the Garakotsu, there's nothing you can do to stop it. While they can be effected by crystals, it is best not to use them to deal with the Ring of Fire unless you absolutely have to. While it is difficult to outrun the Ring of Fire and cause it to disappear, it's not impossible. The best defense against this is to simply prevent it from appear at all. Keep moving and scroll the screen on, even a little bit at a time, to stop the Ring of Fire from showing up and chasing you.
