Hearts are given to assistants. Once an assistant has three or more hearts, they will appear to aid and defend Sarah. Each assistant cen be given up to 8 hearts, although any number beyond 3 makes no difference. As long as an assistant has been given at least three hearts, they can be summoned to help Sarah at any time by utilizing the Music Box. Sarah can hold up to 8 of these at a time. Sarah can warp to the center of the Hedge Garden and speak with the Wiseman at any time by using a crystal ball. Sarah can hold up to 8 of these at a time.
Jewelery Necklace Labyrinth Book

Jewelery can be found in rare instances, scattered around the labyrinth. Collecting these lost treasure piles will add 30 to your money count. Necklaces are a little more common than the piles of Jewelery, and they too will add to the amount of money you have to exchange for items, but only by 10. If you ever find yourself low on time, reading a book can be a great way to grant yourself a few more hours. Each book use adds 5 hours to your remaining time! Sarah can hold up to 8 of these at a time.
Lipstick Clock

Sarah used Lipstick to mark locations she had previously visited, although the denizens of the labyrinth thwarted her efforts to keep track of her progress. In the game, these items instantly add one hour to her remaining time. Finding a clock is lucky indeed, as each one will instantly add three hours to the remaining time that Sarah has to rescue her little brother. They are found primarily in the underground portion of the Labyrinth.

Clearance items[edit]

There are twelve different pieces of the key which can ultimately open the door to Jareth's castle which are hidden in twelve different portions of the labyrinth. When Sarah locates and collects a key piece, she will be instantly transported to the center of the Hedge Garden. After making it into Jareth's castle, you will still be unable to rescue Toby unless you locate the final piece of the key; a stone that belongs to Jareth which fits in the middle of the key. Like any key piece, collecting it will transport you to the Hedge Garden. In addition to key pieces, each of the twelve portions of the labyrinth contain one special coin. When you have three coins, you can trade them with the Wiseman for items which can boost Sarah's offense and defense. If you find the coin after you find the key, collecting it will transport you to the Hedge Garden.
