Larva Mortus is split up into several quests. Each quest has a unique storyline description, but the dungeons are all still randomized like the random missions that can be fought against. Quest missions do have some set values, like some unique bosses or challenges.

Begin the game by playing through the quests. If it appears to be difficult, go off on side missions to acquire ammo, new weapons, and level up. Movement speed, regeneration, and constitution (health), are the most important stats (three points in resistance is helpful, too). Once you feel "invincible" based on your skills and stats, upgrade Luck with your extra points from leveling.

Tips[edit]

  • The fastest way to beat the game and get every trophy is to always set the game difficulty to Easy. The difficulty only affects how much damage you take from enemies and how much health they have. It does not affect the story or your ability to get trophies. So, unless you are going for a very slow challenge, do not play on Hard.
  • Use the Sword against zombies, skeletons, and spiders. Werewolves can also be circled and taken down with the Sword if your movement speed is around level 4. Large demons, one on one, are also very easy to take out by circling with the Sword.
  • Use the Dynamo Gun on small bats, large bats, groups of zombies, and on ghosts. When ghosts are immune to damage, they can still be hit by the Dynamo Gun if you hit a nearby solid target (the ricochet/arc will still hit immune ghosts). Note that solid targets include boxes and other objects.
  • Do not upgrade the melee damage stat. It does not help at all and even at level three is useless. Instead, put those points into Luck, which should help you find more trophies, ammo, and power-ups (bonuses).
  • Only use Dynamite when you are surrounded or in emergencies.

Guardian quest[edit]

This is the only quest that really presents a challenge. It is ~the third to last quest. You must defeat ~5 champions. These champions are supposed to be the guardians of the ??. They are very large ghost soldiers. They move slowly, but have extremely powerful and unique ranged attacks. They can shoot fireballs like the large demons, they can fire a laser that can kill you in one hit if you get caught in it, and they can leave damage over time areas of fire on the ground.
