MK Stage 2.png

Main stage[edit]

Note: In two-player mode, this stage is called "Stage 2A", as it is one of two choices for the second stage (the other being Stage 3, which is "Stage 2B").

Once Happy has dropped down to the ground (and Rappy with him in two-player mode), you'll have to jump onto the first level of a fence as a cockroach comes walking towards you; once you have kicked him away, you will come to three boxes (and once you have kicked each of them to open them, three rings will emerge from them). You'll then have to jump onto the second level of the fence to collect four coins - and once you have done so, you will have to drop back down to the ground as you come to a fourth box (and once you've kicked it to open it, a rollerskate shall emerge from it). You will then have to jump back up to the first and second levels of the fence in turn, and jump onto a block as you come to a fifth box; once you have kicked it to open it, a fourth ring will emerge from it. You then have to drop down onto the second level of a single fence post, and collect two more coins - and once you have done so, you shall have to jump onto the second level of another single fence post which has a crab walking back and forth on it. Once you have kicked the crab away you'll have to collect two more coins; once you have done so, you shall have to jump back down to the ground to collect eight more coins as two more cockroaches come walking towards you. Once you kick both of these away, you'll have to walk back to the left, as you come to three more boxes (the seventh of which is stacked on top of the sixth one) - and once you have jumped up and kicked each of them to open them three more rings will emerge from them. You then have to jump up to the first and second levels of another fence in turn to collect four more coins as a fourth cockroach comes walking towards you; once you've kicked the cockroach away, you will have to drop back down to the first level of the fence, to collect two more coins. You will now have to jump back up to the second level of the fence and onto the fourth branches of two trees in turn as a dragonfly comes flying towards you - and once you've kicked him away, you shall have to jump up to the fifth branch of the second tree as you come to a ninth box. Once you have kicked it to open it, an eighth ring will emerge from it; you'll then have to drop down onto a cloud as you come to two more boxes. Once you have kicked both of them to open them two more rings shall emerge from them - and you'll then have to jump onto the sixth and seventh branches of a third tree in turn as a fifth cockroach comes walking towards you. Once you have kicked him away, you will have to walk onto a second washing line as you come to two more boxes; once you've kicked both of them to open them, two crystals will emerge from them. You'll now have to drop down onto a first washing line and back down to the ground in turn as you come to two more boxes - and once you've kicked both of them to open them two more rings will emerge from them. You'll now have to jump up to the first, third, fifth and seventh branches of a fourth tree in turn, and jump over to a horizontally-moving cloud while slowing your descent to collect four more coins; once you've landed, you shall have to jump up to collect two more coins and jump over to the first step of an eight-block platform while slowing your descent to collect four more coins. You will then have to drop down onto the second and third steps of the platform in turn, as you come to two more boxes - and once you've kicked both of these to open them, another rollerskate and a third crystal will emerge from them. You then have to jump onto the fourth and fifth steps of the platform in turn, and jump over to the third branch of a fifth tree as a grasshopper comes flying towards you; once you've kicked him away, you'll have to jump over to the first step of a seven-block platform and drop down to its second step, as you come to three more boxes. Once you've kicked each of them to open them, three more crystals will emerge from them - and you will then have to turn back to the left, jump up, and kick the platform's first block to destroy it (because once you have done so, a money bag will emerge from it). You will now have to jump up to the platform's third step as another grasshopper comes flying towards you; once you have kicked him away, you'll have to drop back down to the ground to collect three more coins as two more grasshoppers come jumping towards you from both sides. Once you've kicked both of them away, you will have to jump onto a stack of three more blocks and drop back down to the ground to collect two more coins as you come to two more boxes - and once you've kicked both of them to open them two more crystals will emerge from them. You will now have to jump onto another stack of three more blocks to collect two more coins as a fifth grasshopper comes jumping towards you; once you've kicked him away, you shall have to drop back down to the ground, turn back to the left, jump up and kick the stack's second block to destroy it (because once you've done so, a Rally-X Special Flag will emerge from it). You will now have to jump up to the first, second and fourth branches of a sixth tree in turn as you come to a twenty-third box - and once you have kicked it to open it, a thirteenth ring will emerge from it. You will then have to jump over to the third branch of an eighth tree while slowing your descent, as another dragonfly comes flying towards you; once you have kicked him away and landed you'll come to a twenty-fourth box. Once you've kicked it to open it a fourteenth ring shall emerge from it - and you will then have to drop down onto a three-block platform as you come to a twenty-fifth box. Once you've kicked it to open it, a third rollerskate will emerge from it; you'll now have to drop back down to the ground, turn back to the left, jump up and kick the platform's third and second blocks in turn to destroy them (and once you've done so, a Life Heart shall emerge from the second one). You shall now have to jump up to the first, third and fourth branches of a ninth tree in turn, as a sixth cockroach comes walking towards you - and once you've kicked him away, you have to walk onto a fourth washing line as you come to two more boxes. Once you've kicked both of them to open them two more rings will emerge from them; you'll now have to drop down onto a third washing line and back down to the ground in turn, as you come up to two final boxes. Once you've kicked both of these two final boxes to open them, a seventeenth ring and a ninth crystal shall emerge from them - and, once either of the mice has entered the mousehole in the wall, the game shall proceed to the slot machine (which, in one-player mode, now has the risk of causing you to lose house parts if you won or bought at least one).

Slot machine[edit]

MK Slot Machine.jpg

Note: If you spin a Maneki Neko, Nyamco head or Happy head on the slot machine in two-player mode, then win the bonus game, Nyamco shall ask whether you want to steal a part from (or trade one with) the other player or not; if you answer in the negative, you shall be given 20000 Yen instead.

The slot machine is much the same as it was on the previous stage (including Nyamco's dialogue), but spinning a skull on it can now cost you a house part if you had won one in a question box, or had bought one or more from the shop (in addition to the initial penalty of losing 20000 Yen, which is also the penalty for losing a bonus game); once you spin an item that is not a skull in one-player mode (after the possibility of spinning one more than once, which if done enough times may end up losing you all the Yen you collected) and Nyamco has described it, he shall speak the following Hiragana text:

げーむ は.... (Gēmu ha....)
しりおし げーむ にゃんにゃん (Shiri oshi-gēmu nya n nya n)
ミューキチがとくいだにゃあ (Myūkichi ga toku ida nya a)

In Zynk Oxhyde's English translation the above text is translated to "I think Mewchi's good at sumo game." ("Mewchi" being the sinister-looking Mewky whose head is displayed on a blue background); once you've pressed A button to continue, the images on the slot machine's reels will change to the three anthropomorphised Mewkies' heads (remember that the "normal"-looking Mewky whose head is displayed on a green background is Mewta, while the happy-looking one whose head is displayed on a red background is Mew-mew), as Nyamco starts telling you who your opponent is going to be. Once you spin the head of a specific Mewky, Nyamco will finish saying that this Mewky will be your opponent - and once you have pressed A button to continue, the game shall proceed to the "Push Off" bonus game (which is also this stage's bonus game for two-player mode, but both players shall fight against each other). However, once Nyamco has finished describing the item you spun in two-player mode he shall speak the following Hiragana text instead:

つぎの... (Tsugi no...)
しりおし げーむ に (Shiri oshi-gēmu ni)
かったほうに あげるにゃあ (Katta hō ni ageru nya a)

In the English translation, the above text is translated to "Next sumo bonus game!"; once you have pushed A button to continue, the game shall proceed to the "Push Off" bonus game (but as mentioned above, both players will be fighting against each other in this mode as opposed to one of the Mewkies).

Bonus game: Push Off[edit]

MK Push Off Bonus Game (1P).jpg

Once Happy and the Mewky whose head you spun (or Rappy in two-player mode) have reappeared on top of a giant fish can with Nyamco urging them on from his stool (watched by a crowd of other Mappy relations, Pac-Mans, ghosts, and Pookas), you will have to repeatedly press A button to push on your opponent, while using the D-Pad to control the direction of your push; if the Mewky or other mouse is getting the better of you, you must press and hold B button to stand straight (however, you must only do this long enough to continue pushing on the Mewky or other mouse once he brings his back in again). Once Happy knocks the Mewky (or Rappy in two-player mode) over, a small picture of Nyamco's head will appear on the left board, as Nyamco speaks th)e Katakana/Hiragana text Happī no kachī (ハッピーのかちー) - however, if the Mewky (or Rappy in two-player mode) ever knocks Happy over a small picture of Nyamco's head will appear on the right board as Nyamco speaks the Katakana/Hiragana text Myūtā/Myūkichi/Myūmyū/Rappī no kachī (ミューター/ミューキチ/ミューミュー/ラッピーのかちー). Once Happy knocks the Mewky over (or either mouse knocks the other one over) three times Nyamco will hail Happy (or Rappy) as the winner and give him the prize you spun on the slot machine earlier; once you've pressed A button, the game goes to the shop.

Shop[edit]

MK Shop.jpg

The shop is much the same as it was on the previous stage (including the elephant's dialogue); however, if you spun a skull on the slot machine in one-player mode earlier (and you did not win it back in a question box), the price for the part you lost shall have been returned to the wall. Once you (or both players in two-player mode) finish shopping, the screen will cut to the shot of the anthropomorphised Happy (and Rappy in two-player mode), looking at the pictures of their partially-built houses - and, once the game returns to the overworld map, you'll have to press right on the D-Pad in one-player mode to proceed to Stage 3, or press up on the D-Pad in two-player mode to proceed to "Stage 3A" (which must be played as a result of choosing this stage).
