The practice race is the easiest one - simply follow the arrows to the bottom, and onto the half-pipe. There are 60 seconds on the clock; while they don't carry over to the next race, they each award 100 points per second remaining.

Each corner of the half-pipe extends much higher than the pipe itself, with ground markings with the numbers 3, 4, 5, 6. Attempting a jump onto these markings will award between 3000 and 6000 points, depending on how far you land.

If you simply remain at the starting location on this map, the game will raise a ramp underneath the marbles to move them forward.
